Picking up where they left off

Post » Thu Sep 24, 2009 12:03 am

Im no PC gamer which is the reason I came across the crysis franchise only now. But I was put in shock wondering where the FPS of my dreams has been hiding. This led me to a youtube spree of fan walkthroughs to better know the storyline because I would never get to play the first one myself. But I am confused about how the plot ends up in NY. I want to know the storyline as much as possible before it comes out and was hoping you all could help me. Thanks ahead of time!

The plot ends up in NY through an underdeveloped story and higher profits.

You really won't be missing out on anything in the story department.

:/

Underdeveloped story? They hired a professional story writer to do C2's story, unlike C1.

Richard Morgan is also doing a comic book release to tie in the events between C1 and C2.

If you'd like some of the gaps filled in.
Take a look here.

I actually have this thanks to my special edition of Crysis. And yesterday I watched it, lets just say after 3 years, what Cevat and the entire lot said then about Crysis and the CryEngine 2 then still apply now pertaining to the CryEngine 3.
"We don't do many games, every 2 to 3 years, one game comes out, so we have to do something exceptional to increase the company reputation."-Faruk Yerli
And they still are sticking to that. 3 years later, Crysis 2

One more thing, Last Words. Can't help but insert this quote.
"Crytek's culture of pushing innovation and redefining things inherently means that its going to be very difficult for the future because we need to top ourselves again with new technologies and new innovation. The good thing is that gamers will always get great products, hopefully."-Cevat Yerli

Richard Morgan isn't going to turn the Crysis universe into a proper one. Sure, he'll write a good storyline, but only a line.

@Blablah

Whoa, I just googled Antigua and Barbuda. That place looks awesome. Never even heard of it. What is your job there? Hopefully something cool like Lobster diver or Coconut wrangler.

Story wise, I'm pretty sure they're retconing the first game more or less entirely.
