How Does Ranger Combat Armor Work? : Fallout: New Vegas

It looks to me that the armor part provides little defense, and the clothes are plain useless. How would it give 20 DT?

(I'm not sure it is ceramic, but it looks to be)

Like Taco says, it's made of LAPD armor on the Torso, the leather duster and helmet provide defense too, my complaint is the legs, the pants look to be a simple pair of blue jeans.

i wish the armor wasnt so cliningy in its movment. it looked all bad ass cuase it was flowy in the commercials but its not and i understand why just wish it wasnt stiff like it is.
