[RELz] The Enclave Commander mod v 0.75, Thread III

I really enjoy the premise of this mod. While my current character, a kind of solitary, sneaky-sniper-type named Neil Dylandy (after a certain sniper from a certain series) is rather unsuited for it, I've downloaded it nonetheless and intend to make a character just to use this mod with. Lots of roleplaying potential here...

And on that note, I'd like to make a suggestion; though it's a bit of work, I think it'd add to the polish and "immersiveness" of it all. Perhaps you could have someone do voiceovers for some of the commands. Say you have call in some troops via Vertibird, you might hear, over a crackling radio signal of relatively poor quality, "Copy that, commander. Strike team inbound on intercept vector." Or, say, you order a Vertibird to do a strafing run on a target, you hear, "Rodger that. Vertibird enroute; all weapons free." You get the point. The fact that, since it's going to be over a radio; you wouldn't exactly have to find somebody with studio-quality microphone equipment; good voice acting and post-processing could overcome any equipment limitation due to the intentional "over the air" sound of it. I envision it being kind of like the radio-voices you hear when you issue units in the Homeworld games; calm and professional, which is how I've always viewed the Enclave as ultimately being.

I think little things like that would add to the already considerable immersion your mod provides. Kind of give some "life" to those folks you're ordering around, to make it feel even more like you're commanding an organization with (comparable to the rest of the Wasteland) massive resources and manpower.

not sure if this has been brough up before but I have encountered a small bug.

When I enter a building with my squad, they have their weapons drawn and are in a fist fighting stance.

Its not really game breaking, just annoying.

That's no bug.

They are always be in ready weapon mode when they follow you.

This mod is pretty sweet, I dig it - I've got it installed, but haven't had much time to play around with it, but I do like the youtube videos I've seen and whatnot. Once I play with it a bit more, I'll update my feelings on it :)

I like the idea of adding voiceovers, at least on the radio. Also, is there any chance of adding some way of getting the item in game - from a quest, or some other way other than just adding it to your inventory? I have little to no modding experience, so I'm not sure what this would entail.

Keep up the good work, though. Stuff like this is the reason I buy Bethesda games, and play them for years and years.

I was using the Chinese soldiers the other day and using console codes I created a team using the stealth suits and boosted their stats. The result was an elite stealth suit team, I got through the Statesman Hotel with little difficultly even though they had a tendency to open fire when they got too close to the enemies. It was amazing!
