To people who don't have multiplayer problems?

How much do you end up hosting the game? What kind of connection do you have? What time are you playing the game? On or off peak hours? Do you live close to servers? What kind of TV? etc...I have questionable connection sometimes. My cousin who has high speed cable has only hosted like once since game came out. There are so many people with iffy connections, what seems to be the difference?

i have absolutely experienced the lag but most often my online experience is great. never been disco'd, in around 12 hours online i've only seen three host migrations. it plays great for me, for the most part.

i really don't have the best set-up, either. wireless connection to 6mb AT&T service. i have started to take note of my connection status during games and i've often had good games with three yellow bars. if i have less than that the lag becomes very noticeable. often i will be doing very well and i'll look and i'll be at least four green bars (probably the host).

I maybe host one in every 6-8 games or less, not that often to be honest, when I do you end up kind of feeling bad for the other players! Most of the time I run 3 bars though (assuming I've turned my laptop off). Occasionally this drops to 2, and only very rarely 1 bar when I think I've been connected to a host outside North America. I've still seen some bad lag at times and had some frustrating games where I just couldn't buy a kill, but even then, as I play mostly crash site I'm still able to enjoy the game and get an ok score, also occasionally a host migration has just not appeared to work for whatever reason and I've been kicked to the menu.

To be honest though, I've had less issues in Crysis 2 than Bad Company 2 and MoH where I've found I sometimes just get randomly dropped from the servers (especially in Medal of Honor).

I have high speed cable internet and my PS3 is wired into my router. I'm located in a medium sized town on the US west coast and have a standard old school non HD, NTSC TV. I work during the day so only play in the evening (generally between 9pm and 1am) and on weekends.

How do you know if you're hosting?

You tend to have a Maximum connection and it becomes 10 x easier to win one on one firefights.

I had an interesting run of games last night. For one stretch I was host (only guy with full bars) and was owning, then I spent a two games on one bar and it was obviously effecting my ability to hit folks etc (i.e. I got owned). In the middle band (2 or 3 or whatever), I find the connection not getting in the way of my game. On the other hand, if you play CoD on 2 bars, you're clearly disadvantaged. I most commonly get 2 or 3 in C2 and only go negative kd as a result of my own bad play.

how i wish i am hosting, i always almost get 1bar on connections when i join random games, using 50mbps up/down fiber optic connection in Singapore. always see myself trailing the enemies on killcam when i am pretty sure i hitted him for more than 20shots. lmao

i would get host from time to time. you know you're the host when you're the first one in the lobby and the timer hasn't started counting down yet, and people are still coming in. i don't know the speed of my router, nor am i DMZ'd, but i could care less because i always have good connection with any online games i play lol.

i think people on crysis have got to realise the bars you get in game are not the same as cod. In cod 2 bars would be near unplayable but on this its like a 3 bar connection on cod. I generally have a good connection on this game, got 19dwn and 1up but if your having problems have a look at your ping because i think that could be the problem, i got 10 ping and rarely have any online problems on this gam:)

- I never host
- I normally get 2-3 bars (rarely 1)
- I play the game late around 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. MST. Sometimes I play earlier if I don't have work/school.
- 42" Insignia Plasma
- I have COX as my provider

I've not had that many issues but the hosts do have the advantage, its not their fault they don't know they are hosting. Personally the game has been fine for me.
