Really dissapointed with the DRM

Being a huge fan of Crysis and the original Far Cry, I was very dissapointed to see that Crysis 2 features online activation-style DRM. It's no big secret that this kind of DRM offers no more security than a disc check-style DRM does.
Those of us who doesn't have their gaming computer connected to the internet or just refuse to buy sh*t that we don't actually own (it's closer to a leasing contract) are left out of the loop in order for Crytek to protect their IP from some imaginary kind of
pirates who doesn't know how to download crack-files.

Was really looking forward to Crysis 2 and I really don't understand why Crytek does this - it punishes paying customers but it does not hinder piracy. At all.

99.9% of gamers have their rigs hooked up to the internet. Plus, from what I've read it is a one time activation. The only issue I see is way down the road when the activation server is taken down.

Most people that use computers to listen to music have their rigs hooked up to the internet but nobody would accept some kind of activation of their CD's.

See, Crytek? If you would use Steam as your DRM, the leak would be completely irrelevant, people would be happier, and ice caps would stop me.. wait, let's end this sentence, shall we.

Let Valve and the Great Chicken Wing Emperor Gabe Newell show you the way, as i showed you the errors of your way.
