Steam only?

This is just a little question I have. Will be Crysis 2 only avaiable via Steam like most games nowadays or will be there a retail non-Steam version as well? Because for me Steam is the worst software ever (installations take forever, forced updates etc.). I'm thinking about pre-order the game via Amazon but I don't want to buy it unless I know that it'll be a non-Steam version.

Thanks for an answer ^^

I think it works with and without depending on where you get it from.

The only copy of Crysis 2 that will require you to play through Steam will be the Steam version. If you order it from somewhere else you shouldn't have this problem.
