Patch worked?

Post » Sun Oct 18, 2009 7:32 pm

Ok so i've played for a few hours this morning and the patch had seemed to have fixed most of the issues, what are your guys thoughts of it?. With regards to the lag and hit detection issues the only way to fix this is to give us dedicated servers maybe a poll for this is needed.

This is what ive noticed after the patch

> Kill cams now seem to be fix
> music issues are sorted
> Matchmaking does seem better
> Gameplay does seem a little smoother

> still have to empty clips into guys before they die, when they kill you in one or two shots
> Stealth kills still seem hit or miss
> maximum armour has no effect sometimes
> energy drains fully from max to empty for no reason on times
> Hit detection and lag is still an issue ( could be sorted with ded servers)
>Still get under the map issues if ive been in my messages before a match

Bc2 and mw2 don't have dedicated servers and they work perfectly online for me with no lag or lame hit detection, so dedicated servers aren't necessary although would be welcome.

I read that bc2 do have dedicated servers, mw2 doesn't but that game engine is flawless and in my opinion still the best to this date. Other issues ruined that game not the way it played

U may be right about bc2, but still it is lame that a three year old game like mw2 is best example of an online p2p game, pathetic.
I'm going back to bc2 and will probably pick up bf3 , but I'm not buying any new fps games from now on, they are waste of money as u can't play them properly for months anyway. Kz3 and this just sitting there unplayed and black ops was shocking for 7 months, and I got rid of it on ps3 and 360.

yeah i agree with you, something is going on with fps games recently all have had bugs and connection issues of some sort. Im not sure if the ps3's anti hacking update has caused problems with online connections and i cant speak as a 360 customer because i dont own one but since mw2 games like black ops, homefront and crysis have all have freezing issues and horrible connections. I really dont see how games are aloud to be released without extensive testing anymore. I really want to love this game so i hope they sort it soon if there guna expect us to pay the amount of money we do then they could atleast supple dedicated servers for us. Im not sure if the psn servers are any good but im sure we'll be paying for them soon

also ive noticed that when i play mw2 and bc2 my router opens additional ports for online play, this doesn't happen with the other games mentioned so im wondering if this has something to do with it. mw2 opens ports 3074 and bc2 opens port 10000, ive never had any connection issues with these games and my nat type is open for both. For crysis, black ops and homefront my nat type is moderate

well issue is simply that the publishers are putting huge pressure on devs to get games out due to huge financial costs of developing games and dont want delays, and avoiding clashes with other big namee titles, meeting quarterly financial predictions, keeping shareholders happy etc etc.

its nothing to do with hackers affecting anything or psn being bad, as its perfectly capable of running games online, look at mw2 or mag etc, or how bad black ops was for me on 360 after a patch(perfect before that for a month) its simply that the netcodes on most games are bad and havent been sorted out properly before being released, and they try to patch these things up after release, knowing that they already got our money in their pocket
