Tritton Ax Pro - the sound svcks ?

Post » Wed Oct 21, 2009 3:17 am

Hi!
I have the Tritton AX PRO's and i use them everyday when i play black ops (works fine), but when i use them with Crysis 2 or Killzone 3 the sound is horrible, especialy in crysis 2, sounds like its played through an old casette-tape to exaggerate the point, i think its mostly the bass (sub) sounds thats not corresponding with the headset, anyways i see no headset options at the ingame menus in the game, so;

* Anyone else using the Tritton Ax Pro with this game? Same problem?

* Are there recomended Settings for this game regarding Trittons?

* Does Crysis 2 work good with other headsets?

Thoughts? this is on ps3 of course

i have ax pro's as well man, its not the headset. the game itself has many things to be fixed and the sound should be one of them.

I use The turtle Beach PX21 and I have the same problems.

I am using the Px 21's and can honestly say this is the best sounding game I have used with them. Can't decide if the're better or worse with the boost on but these headphones are the buisness with this game.

A mate has the 7.1 converter unit and will be testing that out later today. Will post if he has any issues.

It's not just headphone problems. The music during the multiplayer in the lobby is distorting terribly. I'm running 5.1 surround via optical and it distorts real bad. This is the only game that has a problem on my set up also.

I'm having the same problem with my Astros. Sometimes the sound works well but other times it sounds terrible. It has a fuzzy sound and sometimes seems like the sound cuts out on me. I don't have the problem in any other game other than this, so I think it must be a problem in the game, it's probably patchable.

You can hear the bad sound in multiplayer even with out head phones. Crytek didn't really care about the ps3 music in multiplayer =(. On the xbox it sounds much more epic and clear...

Yeah the sounds in this game pales in comparison to Killzone 3. If it's just the PS3 version then that is even more disappointing...

why the hell do they give out a game without compatability with the most popular gaming headsets? this is very noobish of them. common!

Yes, the sound is bad at points. I hate the music that plays in the multiplayer lobby, I'm sure everyone knows what I mean, it's awful. It's really loud and it cracks unbelievably bad. Also, I don't like how for instance "Cloak Engaged" sounds. Other than that it's fine I guess, still prefer playing with my regular 5.1 surround set though.

Im not sure how you have yours set up, but disable DTS in the ps3 XMB, the axpros only have a dolby digital decoder. Im not even sure that DTS can be streamed over optical cable, but its worth a shot.

Disable everything except linear PCm 2 channel and Dolby digital.

Mine is always on Dolby digital and DTS is always turned of, when you say Linear PCM 2, you mean all of them?
it says if the game doesn play on those frequenses the headsett might be ruined? anyways there is 4 of them, wich one should be checked? 44,1khz 88.2khz 176.4khz 48khz

mine has 44,1khz & 48khz checked by default..

"Cloak engaged" sounds awesome and the music in the multiplayer lobby is patched today :-)

Tryed the converter the other night and what a difference it makes. I love the sound from the PX 21's but with this attachment the sound is amazing.

You get such a feeling of spacial awareness, gunfire and footsteps can be ignored or chased because you can distinctly locate their direction.

I was a bit sceptical until I heard it for myself. I will be now getting this excellent piece of kit as soon as.

Leave the 2 that cannot be disabled, and then turn on only dolby digital.
