Crysis 2 Multiplayer

Post » Tue Oct 20, 2009 11:27 pm

After experiencing the exhilaration of Crysis Wars Power Struggle, I wondered if Crysis 2 multiplayer would still have large open maps like Beach or Mesa. This thread is here for the people who will think and hopefully get a response from the community managers from Crytek. My question stands as will there be maps like the two described or will all maps revolve around urban combat? Will the old maps remain or will multiplayer be changed completely? For everyone who has questions on multiplayer, this is the thread for it.

I hope so, but I didn't really liked the Crysis 1 multiplayer. Hard to understand and a bit unbalanced. The game shouldn't have some kind of money to buy vehicles..

Big maps would be great, maybe some sniper maps in tall buildings, that would be awesome!

Both multiplayers blew. I would not mind what Crytek does to the multiplayer, as long as it attracts more players (and isnt excessively stupid). Try and find a match in the current Crysis games...you have to compromise to play at all. o.0

Main think Crytek have to understand, after looking at games like BFBC2 MP,cod4 and etc gained more popularity still those games r up and running............ , crysis 2 mp should like dos games as Talon95 mentioned more attractive, compeitative, to gamers.......

What do you guys think about unlocking weapons and modules as you level up?
They have already mentioned that we will unlock these new "modules" as we progress through the levels, so I assume we will also unlock weapons. I think this is a very good thing because I found that Crysis wars etc. lacks that addictive factor of COD and BC2, so I don't really feel the need to play it very often.
Oh, and please don't include grenade launchers AKA N00b Tubes!

Haha ace. I never really liked the Crysis franchise as much as Far Cry, i play the games more for the community. =) Although, I actually want Crysis 2 to have a good multiplayer. You can't say the Crysis franchise has had good multiplayer?

Crysis 2 needs:

Gamemodes: Assault (from Far Cry), Power Struggle, TeamDeathmatch, Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Domination. I think that is a good amount for success.

We need ranking, atleast 30 levels.

We need unlockables. We also need class loadouts.

We need stattracking. :) And more weapons!

That's about it. :)

After unlocking everything and and getting to the last rank it makes it pointless to play the game anymore. Like there is no need to play since you have gotten everything...

the problem with having huge maps such as in the original is that you get all this space and only a maximum of 12 players online. I assume this means 6 per team. The maps really shouldn't be too big.

If you have class loadouts with perks and such then doesn't that take out the entire realism of the game? imagine this being another modern warfare 2 crowded-map-die-every-two-seconds game with helicopters or what nt

Hmm? I never said perks. I hate perks!!! Just class loadouts so you can save your loadout instead of pressing "last purchase" constantly. Instead you get 5 loadout slots, and you can choose which one you want prior to spawning. Far Cry had 3 class loadouts, and that game was not "die every two seconds" gameplay.

And where did you find out that its only a 6on6? Crytek has released nothing about the multiplayer, that is just a rumor. Its probably going to be a 8on8 at the least. :)

Ranking will be the end of the multiplayer if it had that. Out of all the ranked games I've played. BFBC2, MW2, and a few others. The game completely looses its fun after you reach the final level. The game doesn't need unlockables.

I played almost 100 hrs of wars and I so wished all the other games had the same style that wars had. The more kills or captures you get the more money you get which lets you buy more and better weapons. From what

Why forced the players to be forced to rank up to get good weapons where several kills and a few captures will get you everything. Ranks and unlockables are just ridicules.

/Rant over/

I agree with JJ509,

I like the style of Wars, no need to be forced to level up, just have fun and play it in game.

In some severs, I just earn WAY too much PP's. After a few minutes, 3000 PP's.

Yeah thats my server over @ 7oxicity.net - the idea behind the large PP scoring was to enable players to buy the more expensive items (custom mods/vehicles) which were deliberately set high to avoid overuse and to enable a target to reach for which also incited a competitive spirit where players getting pinball-esque scores could brag about it, it's all about the kudos to some, also some of the other mods i have created give you an incentive to do well and to play fair and to use the various mods & features available, for example... first-blood, first kill on the server/round earns 500PP, another example is head-shots, the further you are away with a head-shot kill then you get the distance in PP added to your score, snipers love it, i think a lot about the prices and scores of such mods and features we currently run on our server and so far people love it, also if you crash out of the game you and or lose a connection your scores are restored, also the highest PP of any game is recorded and shown upon breaking the record to all players, again its all about the kudos, cheers

Power Struggle ranking and currency used throughout all the gamemodes would be even better, if it is balanced correctly. ;)

Here are some idears I woult like to see in the mp game:

1.) Levels outside New York (Not other big cities. Places like a forest in Germany or a desert in Egypt.)

2.) Coop-missions like that on in Splinter Cell Conviction.

3.) Vehicles are built in a garage or something (like in Crysis 1), but should not are paid with points or money and resporme or unlock if it is destroyed.

4.) There are no shops with wepons or heathbags you have to buy with real money or points you have to get while playing.

5.) More modi like "Verrat" or "Gier" in games like UT3.

6.) More options like "instante action".

7.) More wepons like the FY-71 or other wepons of Crysis 1 and Warhead

8.) An esyer mp map editor (but also the sandbox editor)

Just remember what about was the most of trailers by MW2 and BFBC2? Yes it was about multiplayer. Everyone shows what they have the best. Sad, but crysis again and again, single player gona be better than online game. And crysis and warhead singleplayers looks was better (until aliens came) than New Your jungles.
