FNV to limited

Post » Mon Oct 26, 2009 7:43 am

i hate the invisible walls, theres far too much. Cant even climb a hill to skip half the map :(

I think that's part of the point, channeling you into the route they want you to take. And as already mentioned, AI pathfinding problems. I'm not too keen on it myself, but ok, I'll accept it. What's annoying about the invisible blocks is that you somehow manage to get to a point the engine should have been able to prevent you reaching *without* invisible blocks, but fails at. We're able to run down 70° slopes diagonally, that's just nuts and appears to be an obvious engine physics limitation. Using nothing but overhangs would be bad too.

I Know there's no secret weapons out there like the Beta Tesla canon in fallout 3 but I love glitches that get you under the map. I always hope ill come across some super awesome gun or Easter egg or Some NPC the DEV's Forgot to delete. I find things like that all the time in other games.

This must be the first thread I've seen complaining that there aren't enough glitches in NV.

Fallout games aren't supposed to be about the combat.

oh yeah? well considering the tons of weapons, loads of combat perks, skills, make your own ammo, mines, grenades and a war going on supposedly with many different factions i'm not buying the "its not about combat" comment, thats pretty funny.

Let me rephrase that for him, Fallout is not about pointless combat.

There you go. That sounds right. All the games have allowed the characters to become killing machines if the player chooses; the beauty of Fallout is that it includes other options. Even Fallout 3 could be played without becoming a combat monster (until you hit high level and had to dump points).

A game about the sad inevitability of armed conflict sort of has to include combat.

if you want a definanition for pointless, that would be wandering around the new vegas map... well mako its a game designers job to use artistic license and imagination to actually make a gameworld thats not pointless, because cruising around the new vegas map is pointless, so you have it backwards.

You know, go back to Fallout 3's forum if you want to [censored] about how this isn't like your so called 'true' fallout game, the one that is completely different, you so called 'fallout' fan.

Also, YOUR opinion, is YOUR [censored] opinion, I don't know what kind of world you live in, but Opinions =/= Fact

No, I'm getting tired of seeing the same idiot post the same thing every [censored] day, every [censored] thread, and [censored]ing about every little thing that isn't like Fallout 3.

Then stop "cruising around" and do the quests.
And you're right, wandering aimlessly around IS boring and pointless. So don't do that. It's not the point of the game.

It's posts like these that make me wish that Fallout 3 was never made. It's existence has been nothing but the substance of utter infuriation since October 22, 2008.

There was only one time that I really noticed it and it wasn't a big deal for me and other than that one spot I haven't noticed any other area that has the invisible barrier.

I really didn't feel like it hampered my ability to explore in any significant way and don't see it as a huge deal

Well, you have to enjoy Billygoating up rock walls in F3 to know where the Invisible Walls in New Vegas are. Like Boulder City and Hoover Dam, you can't go over that small hill, you have to go ALL the way around the small hill to go to Hoover Dam. REPCONN is another bad example of this.

I'm so good in this regard because I typically follow the roads. Mostly since I RP, running up and down mountains and not following the road doesn't always mesh in well with my RP. Don't get me wrong I do explore but I don't have to go running up every hill I see just because I can.

This thread was started about a legitimate complaint many have and went down hill from there. Spam about grammar, people flaming one another for personal opinions that don't match their own. Member against member insulting one another like nobody's business.

I may even have time to hand out a warning to each one of you that contributed to the ruination of a legitimate thread about a legitimate complaint and an opinion that nobody has the right to flame. :toughninja:
