A little idea for Power Strugle

If there's going to be a Power Struggle mode on Crysis 2 that is...
Ok so here's the thing. In PS you have to capture the Alien Energy sites to gather energy for your Prototype Factory to be able to buy weapons such as: Gauss Rifle, Moar/Moac and the TAC Tank or Singularity Tank (aka Lag Tank). How about this time around you SPEND those energy points when buying such weapons, because in Crysis and Crysis Wars once you had 100% energy those Alien energy sites become kinda pointless, unless you want quick prestige points to buy stuff.
For instance when buying the TAC Tank or the Sing Tank you would spend like 50 or 75 energy points and on the Gauss Rifle or Moar/Moac you'd spend 10 to 25 points.
Thus making the name Power Strugle a bit more accurate and the Alien energy sites more useful.


PS: Donno if this has been posted before... At least on the oldest gamesas forum.

good idea but for gauss i think after each base hit the energy should be reset (doesn't work if base take 1 hit to destroy) then if energy reset u have to do more work then just wait for someone to run in and buy something else (base destroy stuff should cost 50[incase u miss first time :D]) i also think that if a team has 1 or 2 hits left on base then 1 energy site should change to their side and the prototype factory should become neutral (fairer chance for othere team to get upper hand [this happen only if the winning team has 100% hq health]) oh and for the weapons of proto i think there should be limit to how many in game (if one team have 12 people and they all got gauss and moac/moar they dominate if they any good)

for weapon limit i mean like 5 gauss 6 moac/3 with moar
amount should depend on how many people max the server can have

this can already be done, we have it set only for the TAC Tank on our server, but can be done for other weapons

It doesnt make sense to me. The energy is just there to develop the technology in the first place. Once the technology and building process is done being developed, you don't need any more energy for the prototype weapon building. You aren't supposed to need energy after you develop the technology...that's how the gamemode works. Those energy poibts are spent on developing the prototype technology, whereas "industrial" energy is spent when you buy it and it is auto-built.

Its a good idea, but I don't find it foundationally sound.

I just wanted to give a bit more purpose to the alien energy sites.
But you have to admit, once you have 100% they instantly become useless.

Also on the rest of the map there's constantly a battle over a bunker or a facility but not over a energy site unless it's at the begining of the round.

We all know a single PS round could take hours if we want, but I bet in the first half hour of that round you'll have 100% energy and then no point in fighting over the energy sites.

i played on a Wars server if the enemy team capture all three energie points your team lost 25% thats a nice idea but its too old for Crysis 2
and i dont think there will be nukes in MP because with the destruction will be the hole NYC destroyed
and this isnt good
:D
but a CO-OP mod with AI are great

Maybe a better solution would be to incorperate industrial energy into the game. Your team has to capture power generators that are strewn across the map. Each time you build a new aircraft, vehicle, or nuke, you lose a certain amount of this industrial energy that is built up from holding these generator sites. In this way, the need to atleast fight over generators is present throughout the game. =)

I like my idea a lot. You would just have to rename the current energy sites to "alien sites". ;)

Why does everyone think MP will be in New York? Crysis' MP had lots of maps outside of the islands, starting with Mesa

That is true. But if anything, it is just going to have Tokyo maps. I'm sure it will be all urban. While Crysis had different locations, they were all in more remote, open areas. Refinery and steel mill do not count as urban. They were factories located in remote, resource rich areas. Crysis had the same remote location ideal for multiplayer, so I'm sure Crysis 2 will have the same ideal of urban locations.

I would incorperate my ideas into a mod, but I don't have the time to learn how... :( Hopefully when I finish highschool I will have a bit more time. Hopefully. =)

all ideas are great but some problems and questions can't be answered or solved until crysis 2 comes out (if it's already out then ignore that part and put in when u buy it[if u have it find out why u r here then come up with something else]) and by the way when does it come out!?

[quote]yeah nice idea maddy, but it should cost more that 50 tho :P more like 200 ^^[/quote] i found this comment by hackinz and i wasn't thinking what i wrote through base dstroy stuff should cost between 500(like now) and 1000 if 800 it better ^_^(so generals can get on spawn and players that don't waste points when they spawn [like me :D i waste all points on SCAR stuff and DSG1 stuff{percision rifle stuff}])so anyone got anymore ideas on the weapons and prototype factory items?

The singularity tank was removed from Crysis Wars. I'm pretty sure that weapon is a goner.

The singularity tank was way OP. Its basically a lazer-guided, 1-hit kill base weapon. And unlimited ammo.

Anyway, nice idea. Yea, after your team gets to 100%, engergy sites just svck. No one cares about anything other than the proto after that point.
