THe status of the forum?

Post » Wed Nov 11, 2009 3:34 pm

Are any of those old people still here ?

All i see are noob threads , asking funny things like GFWL and modnern warfail comparrisons lol.

Crysis 2 looks good but graphics are nothing extraordinary compared to Crysis 1 , the gameplay will probably be fine.

Crysis 2 is a big shift for crytek , what i praised before seems so off now , the feel is a lot different and crysis 1 was such a good theme, it just needed perfection.

And i hope forums are up when it releases , sorry but i find these very "console-like" , and it has nothing about crysis , it's a totally new game. maybe "Crysis" is the codename of the nanosuit.

Lol Stewox. I am still here.

And yes, these new forums are pretty much a complete disaster. I would easily prefer the old layout. :(

Attempted edit: Also, I really can't be bothered to wait for more features. When a new website launches, people expect it to be great. They do NOT expect it to be hosted on a cheap American server so that it goes down practically instantly due to connections, nor do they expect features to be added later rather than being available from day 1. Even if this site was increased to the original site's functionality, I still wouldn't come here because I find it too difficult to read with the small text and black/white/red colour scheme, and there's far too much OMG I LIEK BETA NAO threads.

I don't see why this website and crymod aren't combined. Cryteks attempt to "fix" this website just made it even worse. And like Darklite said, those features should have been available on day 1. I understand that you wanted the site up for E3, but you should have started work earlier on the site if you wanted it to be a success. This is just complete fail... Crymod is much more lively, and there is no point in splitting communities apart, you can simply have different forum sections or something.

They wanted the new site sice crymod was more peopular than gamesas , but Crysi was a PC game, so of course not much people were in gamesas , those that played multiplayer , and I was sometimes having fun with crysis wars too , so i came here to hang out , the modders are huge so it's okay to have their own site, and there are other sites like incrysis , moddig-mapping based fan site.

This E3 marketing forum is solely for those xbox fanboys to catch on , they need really light facebook/apple looking site to know how to operate it. come on. ...

Buttkickers still operate ?

Before , it was a site with memorable map , but now it feels everything is just thrown in and I don't even know to navigate the map , it's not about GETTING used to , it's the desing. it feels too boxy, no pipeline , it's just like 5 folders , and the whole site thrown into those 5 , and that's really blindy , not clear where you are in the forum and what's going around it , i don't know anymore , but they won't just make the site more popular by doing some drastic changes to FIX , it was all in the plan , crytek shifted to console market.

Let me tell you something about console market, the console market of quality games is on nintendo , the other console market is the biggest CRAP , MS and SONY are just a bunch of market parasites. PS3 and 360 market is only for crap games and loads of money , against the true values of gaming.

That leaves us to always bet on duke , doom 4 and one more , that'a about it , no other game can save the PC. (SC2 will be turned into wow eventually)

Like its all made for an Xbox controller?... Hmm. Go figure.

Beginning to be very suspicious about why Crtyek doesn't want to show PC in-game video. One wonders if there even is a PC Crysis 2.

I am one of "the old ones" though I was little active writing. Normally I just read what you others said. It was just the last months on the old forum I was sort of active in writing. Perhaps you remember the Norwegian article about Crysis 2 I translatet to English for you.

And I will gladly take back the old site if it was possible. What I really miss from the old site is the latest posts thing they had on the main page. It was so easy to check in a few times a day and see if there where a new post in the threads i was reading. Now I have to locate it (which can take some time) to see if there is a new post. Beacuse of that, there is no threads I am following now.

Guys, please try and keep it constructive. Posts like "it svcks", "it's crap" don't help the team improve the site because they don't know exactly why it svcks or what is crap.

I understand you've probably posted more elaborate and informative feedback in other threads but although the team try their best, they can't read every thread, so if this thread were to be the one they chose to read for feedback, not all the posts would be very useful.

Cheers :)

I can say what's wrong with it.

1. Boxed off thread titles, not the old list.
2. No signatures, or customizable avatars.
3. No PM functionality.
4. News section is not used.
5. Typeface and color scheme makes for hard reading of posts.
6. We can't access our own profile, let alone view someone elses.
7. New posts are not highlighted or symbilized to us. There is no quick way to find out a new post was made.
8. Cookies are not keeping a consistant login.
9. I press the submit button, and it randomly disappears without posting.
10. No edit feature.
11. No BBC code.
12. Error messages while accessing certain parts of the forum.

I think that's about it for now. ;)
