Why did the PC get Dedicated servers while we didn't?

They gave us dedicated servers because they didn't give us DirectX11 or higher res textures

To placate the PC users? A very large and even more vocal portion of the PC community are elitist dikes, if they don't have enough extras to make them feel superior to console users they will nerd-rage en masse.

Jeeee... This game, and most games... are made for the super crappy xbox graphic... Building games around a machine built in 2005 equals fail...

PC gets dedicated servers because they need to pay cash for crap games that arent close to use the full power of their computer. They make the game for consoles, then just scale it to PC.. Xbox's gets listen servers because they **** up the gaming graphics for us on a PC.

. Do you pay 60 bucks a year or more to play your precious fps' online? No, we do so get over yourselves about you're os much better then us. We shelled out the 60 bucks for the game as well so we should be getting dedicated servers. Get your heads out of your asses and look at our games compared to yours. Your quality is generally better because the pc can support better graphics AND longer games.

First off, you choose to pay $60 a year. I have an Xbox, but I'm not going to pay the fee to play on-line. #2 Why do you have an Xbox if you want what the PC crowd has ? If you want dedicated servers, then join the PC crowd. My last video card was $549. That's an Xbox360 Kinect buncdle and a couple of years worth of on-line playing and they haven't even released the DX11 patch yet.

Look at the Tech support for PC games and then look at the Tech Support for Console games. You'll see alot more rage going on in the PC's tech support forums. That's the price PCgamers pay for having prettier graphics. More problems and issues because of the various hardware and os differences.

But let's skip all this Console vs PC silliness. You would have to ask folks like Microsoft EA and others what the reason for the lack of dedicated servers for console games. Odds are pretty good, the console side of the house just doesn't have the market space yet to justify the cost or doesn't show the money making potential the PC side does. No company wants to lose money on hosting servers for games that may not get any real On-line play.

Dont bring up Homefront. That Game is the worst FPS I have seen cranked out of studio for a while. The ded servs for that is an attempt to make up for the hundreds of downfalls that game has. And the hype it got..... Ugh sickening

I imagine if Crytek/EA spot a continued flow of players, they would consider ded servs. But Until then you just have to stick with the sometimes questionable connections... And stay away from Homefront, Dont encourage a sequel.

It's a badly received game with great online connections.

Because we arn't vocal like the pc crowd. PC players demand dedicated servers. Console players punk out and shell out for whatever they give us.

Not to mention that Console players aren't as 'Dedicated' to the games like pc players are...console players quickley move onto the next big online thing every 3-6 months now. Too many developers are spewing out games so quick that we can't keep up...the community gets thinned out. PC players stick to their games for awhile hence the dedicated servers.
I remember when Battlefield 1942 came out I played that thing for at least 3 years straight...

i dunno, after CoD BO became a huge camper fest alot of people were waiting for an escape to an awesome fps, but oh well. they will lose dedicated players to Rage at the end of this year. How hard is it... people still play counter strike to this day, i know this is a Pc game, but still. its awesome and multiplayer WORKS!

If they implemented dedicated servers they would realize how much more of a loyal and populated following these games could have. If all the games were stable with no lag issues...everyone would be eating this up. I personally can deal with the lag and hit detection issues...some games are great and some are not....most of the time I have a pretty great connection and experience. I'm gonna stick with this for awhile...I got sick of KZ3 and COD...Crysis2 has some refreshing gameplay.

Alot of people seem to be of the view that it is because the console crowd are somewhat fickle moving on after a few months. A lot of Battlefields players though have been won over from CoD because of the dedicated servers and still play it as fervently as ever 1 year on. With this being an EA game and them generally being pretty good with dedicated servers I expected this to have it, especially with its highly demanding graphics for a console. I only move on from games because the devs quite often lack pride in their work and dont support the game with quality dlc (not stuff that shouldve been in game anyway) + updates for glitches, connection issues and balancing changes + dedicated servers.

The reason I stuck with Bad Company through the 1st 2 weeks of connection errors is because DICE addressed us on the day of launch and every day after that with news about what was happening, it was even on the in game news thread!. Crytek need to follow in DICEs footsteps more closely. Games shouldnt be released like that but at least they showed they cared about us and kept us updated. I generally trade in games where there is no news or there appears to be platform preference by the devs. Hey no online pass on this though! Pre owned is going to be booming with Crysis 2 if people arent updated with proper news rather than the PR crap you get fed on the games "news" section.

Actually the Gears of War console crowd complained enough and now we are getting dedicated servers in Gears 3. P2P needs to die.

Yeh well Gears 2 was dedicated servers but all the servers were based in America or the ones in Europe were shoddy so we got the bum end of the deal. That game Americans were always COG and we were Locust. Then you would pile a full lancer in a guy and not down him but he could pull his shotgun out and blow your body to pieces from across the map. It would take 4 shotgun bullets for us at point blank range. Gears 1 actually had pretty good P2P, there was a slight host advantage but better that than whole team advantage.

Well there you go, you just proved all the pc elitists right, console players jump from game to game, and when the next game with "refreshing gameplay" comes along you'll play that game, I'm guessing it's going to be Brink. Btw, KZ3 has dedicated servers, yup.
