That Gun and Lucky

I'm just wondering if That Gun and Lucky are comparable, sure Lucky looks great on paper, but the gate loading compared to the swing out cylinder on That Gun makes me wonder. Also, does the AP ammo in That Gun mostly negate the advantage Lucky has?
Is having more DT better than having more damage when it comes to armored enemies? And what is the deal with Lucky having a 25 skill requirement while That Gun is supposed to be a Tier above with 50 skill?

The weird thing is, I went into Quarry junction and found that the 12.7mm Pistol was slightly WORSE than the 5.56mm revolver because the -15 DT on the AP ammo put them equal to each other, and the extra chance to crit allowed the 5.56mm to do better
Sorry if this has been asked before BTW.

IMO I think the Action Point cost on That Gun is too high, probably should be 15.

"That Gun" 5.56mm, 5-shot revolver, auto swing out cylinder.

- 18 Base Dmg at 100 skill
- 17.1 Dmg with -15 DT using 5.56 AP ammo
- +3.6 Dmg for Cowboy Perk

- x2.5 Critical Multipler
- 18 Critical Dmg

- 0.5 Spread
- 0.6 Spread with Fast Shot

- 19 AP per shot

"Lucky" .357 caliber, 6-shot revolver, gate loader.

- 30 Base Dmg at 100 skill
- 37.5 Dmg with -3 DT, 0.80 Spread using .357 JSP rounds
- +6 Dmg for Cowboy Perk

- 2.5 Critical Multiplier
- 30 Critical Dmg

- 0.3 Spread
- 0.36 Spread with Fast Shot

- 17 AP per shot

Personally, I have found Lucky kills things a pistol should kill quite efficiently...especially with JSPs...and That Gun is sorta disappointing. And since I like Lucky's style better, That Gun sits by the TV in Novac while Lucky travels with me at least until I get through Dead Money again and have access to the Police Pistol again. I wouldn't get hung up on paper stats, use what works for you and suits your playing style.
