Possible Crossfire Flicker Fix AND NEW BUG FOUND

Post » Wed Nov 25, 2009 8:47 am

I'm uploading a video of the bug I found and I'll post it on this thread when it's done uploading. It seems as if some textures on objects are being stretched into the light sources that are hitting them. Very weird and insanely hard to describe. I'll show the video when it's done.

As for the Crossfire Fix (I think this has been mentioned on here before, but has gotten very little thread time), if you roll back the patch of Crysis 2 that automatically patched when you first installed the game, the Crossfire flicker goes away completely. (I haven't check my gpu usage, but my FPS seem to indicate my CFX is being fully utilized.)

However this does seem to come at a price. Running Crysis 2 version 1.0 instead of Crysis 2 version 1.1v fixes the flickering, but ALSO seems to get rid of most of the lighting effects. So no more bloom, no more HDR, no more lighting - but also no more flickering and seemingly full CFX utilization.

EDIT: The new bug I found (which will be posted shortly is occurring in BOTH Crysis 2 ver 1.0 and ver 1.1)
