Out of curiosity, when has Crytek been touting procedural deformation for Crysis 2? I can't remember any instances so any links would be appreciated =)
@Detrimus
I didn't realise BC2 has procedural deformation? :S Any links to that as well would be appreciated.
Search GDC 2010 Crysis 2. It was also featured in Gamescon 2009 in the CE3 trailer.
I don't know how many of you actually clicked the link, but he clearly said it is not possible in Multiplayer. The partner company is Russian, so excuse his broken English.
Procedural Deformation is what allows the bullets to chew up cement, go through substances, and more. Without this in Multiplayer, I see myself really not enjoying not being able to shoot through 1 inch metal sheets like in Crysis Wars.
Crytek must patch the engine so that client and server side functions can perform as quick as possible, which would allow procedural deformation to take place. I can't see how such a vital feature could be so clearly neglected for the multiplayer portion of the game. This gives me serious doubts about the other features Crytek hasn't showed in multiplayer yet.
Bad Company 2 has procedural deformation as well as Modern Warfare 2. Just look up any multiplayer of Bad Company 2 and you will see.
Crytek response would be appreciated!
