Felicia did a GREAT job; I expected nothing but good work from her after watching the Guild, it's a great show.

On the subject of Cass being a cliche:
Yes, she is a bit of a cliche, but she's quite a funny one, and a very well done character overall. There's a lot of humanity behind the gruff, hilarious, and belligerently drunk exterior.

It's also important to remember that Fallout is very much so a universe of cliches, to a degree. It's built off of a 50s cliche, after all. :D

Simon Templeman is FANTASTIC (Zaeed Massani, ME2, and the Seneschal in DA: Awakenings)

Uh, that's Robin Sachs. Templeman was Loghain in DA and one of the Admirals from the migrant fleet in Mass Effect but he's best know for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTEuHj83vmw series and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlEKHwEV3vk...some minor spoilers there if you havn't played it.

Well yes, but where the premiss of the game is concerned it is a deeply ironic cliché, taking the wide eyed optimism of the 1950's and placing it in a bleak, desolated, post-apocalyptic world. It's an intentional cliché used to make a point. Cass on the other hand is a alcholic frontier gunslinger and they've placed her in a bar on the frontier with a gun, that's not what I'd call putting a new spin on things. They could have saved the character had she been funny but I fail to see this "hilarious" side to her, she seems pretty tedious to me.

Just to confirm, you're saying that Boone is indeed voiced by FO2 VA Jason Marsden, and not James Marsden as listed in the game credits, correct?

Yes, the credits are wrong. They'll be fixed in the next patch. Not sure how that happened, but I'm going to say it's my fault, since I wrote the credits. This summer is kind of a blur. :)

Nice to hear everyone liked Cass' performance. Rachel Roswell hadn't done much VO work, but she was an absolute pro in the studio. Total one take wonder.

I would have *killed* to work with Simon Templeman! I love that guy. I'm a big Legacy of Kain fan, largely because of the VO work (which includes Rene Auberjonois, our Mr. House, along with other Fallout alumni, like the late great Tony Jay). In my mind, he IS the voice of evil. Unfortunately it's also a very British voice of evil, and we really didn't have much call for that in FNV.

I havn't met Matthew Perry yet, but I'm not expecting good things. There's nothing worse than a mediocre TV/movie actor trying to do voice over work. Like Carrie-Anne Moss in Mass Effect *facepalm*

Edit - Oh wait actually, can't mention terrible celebrity voice actors without mentioning Mena Suvari's redition of Aerith from Final Fantasy....

Yes you have - he was the checkered-coat man in the intro movie. He's not as awful as people say. Not good, either, but still.

I thought Matthew Perry did great really, fitted the character quite well. That many people didn't even notice it was him speaks volumes.

Most of the voice acting in the game is very good, but I especially liked Caesar. Most people probably would have played that character way over the top, but the understated way he is played makes him seem very realistic to me.. and very creepy.

:D

Yeah, great voice acting on Veronica. Good dialog writing too.

Agreed, I would almost say for me voice acting is as important as the story in most games, especially a game as immersive as Fallout.

As an example, Stephen Fry's voice acting is the reason I didn't return Fable 3 two days after it's release.

I think one of my favorite voice actors in New Vegas was Jason Spisak. First time I met Vulpes Inculta in the game, the way he talked made my skin crawl.

Also add me to the list of people pleasantly surprised by Matthew Perry's performance voicing Benny :) I think he pulled it off amazingly well.

I can't comment to much on Felicia Day as I JUST got her as a follower today, but so far I like her cute and happy way of talking

Why wasn't there call for a British voice of evil? Some *robot* or machine could of easily had a British VO and it would need less explaining to the player than why Tenpenny in FO3 was in America.

And whilst I'm on the subject would it be too much to ask for a companion at some point to have a British accent/origin? Even though the aristocracy here do seem to have a very evil sounding voice :-/

I'm surprised that people thought Matthew Perry would do a terrible job voicing Benny. I thought he was great and I've developed a little soft spot for this smartly dressed man. While I like Veronica's character and special quest, can't say I'm a big fan of her voice. It's too perky and flippant for my tastes but to each their own. Actually, I enjoyed nearly all the voice acting in this game, including Mr.Vegas. :)

RE: Boone; What your Really saying is that if anyone asks you to walk out in front of something and put's a beret on, you'll run for cover? ;)

RE: Cass; incredible writing helped alot with the VO, its the combination I think that made her unique. :)

You have a typo in the game's credits then - it says James Marsden.

Another Glitch

I liked Cass the best, but all of them were good. I don't remember anyone that made me cringe.

I'm looking forward now to traveling with Arcade Gannon. I'm a huge Chuck fan and it'll be great hearing Zachary Levi doing the voice acting. Soon, soon I hope.

Talking to Chief Hanlon (Kris Kristofferson) I thought really gave off the western feel and you can kinda feel tired of the fighting and feel the struggle between the NCR and Legion during the conversations with him. This was the best character/voice actor in the game IMO.

As far as only companions, Felicia did a great job but Danny Trejo was my favorite. TBH all the companions are well done even Lily. So I guess its a matter of personal taste. Trejo felt tough yet comical and old and worn out at the same time. Very wide range to pull off in one character.

I just love the response Veronica has when I give her a dress. Because of it, she is now carrying around about 40 outfits as I keep giving them to her.

She never wears them though.......

yeah i think he did the best job too.

hearing his voice for the voice time sent chills down my spine.

his voice really sold the character for me. you could really tell how much of a monster he was, just by hearing him talk.

or Colin Moriarty. How exactly did he get over from Ireland? And if he was born and raised in the Wasteland, where did he get the Irish accent from? etc

Considering people don't travel more than a couple of hundred miles (at the most), all accents in FO must be local. Ones that aren't stick out like a sore thumb, frankly, and better have a very good plot reason for being there.
