Hey all. I'm going to be laid up for quite awhile with another knee surgery... :banghead:....So I figured I'd gear up for another play-through of New Vegas. I'm not sure what skills I'd like to focus on this time so I thought I'd ask you all what your favorite set-ups are to give me some ideas. Thanks in advance. :foodndrink:

That does sound interesting especially because I play in hardcoe Mode. :shocking:

Unarmed if you have not done it yet, it's really fun.
Survival since you're on hardcoe, poisons are fun to mess with.
Just do whatever you did not do last time.

Playing a Sneak/Laser Weapons/Survival Character can be entertaining. My main character is Guns/Sneak/Speech however I'm trying a Str 10, Int 1, End 10, Per 1 pure Melee Weapon character using explosives at the same time on hardcoe. Its fun but I do seem to spend most of my time playing ES at the moment.

Unarmed, Melee (for perks), and Speech.

Can't really specialize for [censored] in NV with skills (Thank you Dead Money for the new cap and Bethesda for decreasing the amount of skills to 5 weapon and 8 support...) but I guess you could go for an Explosives exclusive character.
No guns, no lasers, no knifes or brass knuckles.
Only things that 'asplode.

Thanks for all the cool ideas everyone. I'm going to make this character a super "lucky" character aswell. Right now hes at 8 luck. Are there Bobblehead type things in NV? I don't think so but I couldn't recall. If not I was going to use Intense Training to get it to 10.

Using an Abilene Kid LE BB gun is pretty embarrassing......especially if you kill a ranger with it.

An energy weapons, explosives and repair build is pretty fun.

My regular build has been Energy Weapons/Science/Speech but for the first time, I made Unarmed/Melee/Explosives and I'm having a great time with it. Luck at 8 is sufficient for gambling with the Naughty Nightwear taking it to 9. High Intelligence gives lots of points to spread around when leveling up and Endurance at 7 at the start gives 7 Implants later.

Good luck with your surgery too. :)
