so what exactly did today's title update fix?

Post » Fri Jan 08, 2010 9:56 am

^^^
I still have intermittent lag problems (happens often, but not every game), spotty hit detection, broken kill cams, horribly loud menu music, and my retriever module was reset (luckily I haven't used it much so I don't really care.)

So what exactly did this update fix?

I really want to love this game. I thought the SP was amazing and I think that the MP has massive potential if Crytek can work out the kinks. I'm willing to wait a few weeks, maybe even a month to see Crytek hopefully solve this game's problems. Anyone know any details about today's title update? From what I can tell, nothing has changed.

Nothing useful like connections or FPS.

have you tried installing to your hard drive? I did and I don't seem to have any framerate issues. That might clear up some of the FPS problems that you're having

I sent a message to Cry-Tom so I can start to clean up the list a bit.

Probably isn't huge, they woulda made some noise about it if it did something good.

aye that makes sense. I think it's gonna be a bit by bit situation here. There's alot of issues and it's gonna take some time to fix all of it

Cry - Tom said it was an update to sort out some "behind the scenes problems" in another thread.

Whatever that means.......is it just me or did the beta not run better than the full game?

i would agree that the second MP beta ran better than the current state of the retail release

I'd have to disagree with that one ^_^

The Beta didn't really run as well as the full game, because I often had host drops and some random guy with infinite energy (not max nanosuit, he had cloak the full game and never did lose cloak after shooting)

And you have to look at it another way too, Crysis 2 has lots more content in it than the beta did, more maps, weapons, tags, and a giant span of people online playing the game. The server's will have issues, as did the Homefront servers did in it's initial week of release, it'll all smooth over in a week or so

this game is P2P, there are no servers. If there were dedicated servers, there would be no player host, so your post doesn't make much sense.

I didn't say anything about Dedicated Servers. I assumed that people would realize that i'm talking about player hosts, and I suppose that I assumed wrong. And what part of my post didn't make sense? Where I said that the servers will have issues? By that I merely meant the connection to the player host, one of the bugs in the game right now is that there is Poor Host Selection (full list of known issues and glitches here).

that sentence led me to believe you thought crysis 2 had dedicated servers because homefront does. I think I made a pretty reasonable assumption, given that statement. My mistake i guess!

It's my bad actually, i'm running on four hours of sleep after staying up for eighteen straight, and my wording/grammar is a little messed up right now D: I know that the PC has dedicated servers, and the consoles don't. But still, my point stands, I have my hopes up for the patch that'll fix a lot of issues in the upcoming week :D

my point wasnt about connections, it was about gameplay, The in game latency seems alot worse and the game doesnt feel as solid and Pray and spray situations are rampant were in the beta a better aim won the day, its like they lessened the health or something to cater for bad players.

The characters twitch around screen alot more and they completely **** the melee up making it two hits so now we are back to cloak melee spam, only now when people run at you because of the in game lag they glitch towards you and on the kill cam are hitting thin air.

Either that or my connection speed has taken a nose dive.

Good point I guess... Well, in the beta, the melee was two hit kill without armor~ I have to say i'm a little happy they kept the "Power melee" out of the multiplayer (hold down the stick to get a super insta-kill melee), because people seem to loved that in the beta...

That and they added in a power module that wasn't in the beta, which allows people to have more accuracy from the hip (I don't understand why they just don't take the more accurate ADS module though). And the latency is only worse because of the massive amount of people that have been dumped onto the servers.

But yeah, I really wished that they'd fix the killcams, the guy in the killcam was doing nothing like what you saw him doing, and the final killcam happens so damned fast D<

It fixed the zoom toggle problem with the sniper rifle, playing with alternative button configuration. (You now press B to toggle zoom instead of right thumbstick, what made you bouncing up and down while toggling zoom) I don't know if this is the only thing fixed by this update, maybe there's more, but I haven't found anything else yet...
