Mobility questions - any help?

Is it purely your primary that denotes your sprint speed, what weapon you're currently carrying (i.e. switch to a pistol) or a combination of both? Could I use a LMG, but switch to a pistol and still be as fast as if I had a SMG as a primary?

Also, do grenades help with mobility if they're the equipped weapon if that's the case?

Not looking for anecdotal evidence here, but someone who's actually tested this or peeked into the code.

Im not sure if pulling a pistol out makes you run faster with an LMG as a primary but give it a go yourself.

Once again not sure about the grenades, but what I can tell you is that Loadout Pro when upgraded once reduces the attachment weight penalty and the second time you upgrade it, it reduces the weight penalty of heavy weapons such as the LMG, Grenade launcher or XM43 MIKE.

I think loadout pro was made with a heavy weapons expert in mind, might start using the LMG :D

Well, it seems slower, but it'd better if there was some side by side comparison someone had done with a video to see just how much slower.

I don't actually want to carry a LMG, but am more interested in if the attachment penalty is that much slower, as my main class is melee, so I don't actually use a gun often, and will happily have grenades as a primary if it speeds me up.

Nah, Melee's legit, especially now it's got ANOTHER bunch of nerfs with Proximity Alarm now being mainly visual and needing 500 kills to max, and stealth drain being increased, plus 350 stealth kills now being required before you can even get the reduced drain module, AND you now slow slightly when you throw a punch, meaning someone sprinting can escape, turn around and rinse you with a Feline before you get the second one in.

Added to that, everyone rocks an SMG now, and the Jackal has had a fire rate boost - both making melee more difficult as they wipe you out up close. The only benefits are...

a) It's now only 2 to kill Armour people, but it's countered by taking 2 to kill Stealthed ones, when it was previously one, and overall this makes it slightly more difficult.
b) The Mobility Enhance module is available, but you can't get it until Power level 6, and i'm Level 15 and sprint all the time, and i'm still only at level 5.

Things aren't so rosy for the melee guy anymore. I still get about 15 kills a game, but used to average 20. It isn't OP, simply because the litmus test is how many people use it as FPS players are notrious for going for the most broken combos, and I don't see anyone anymore doing it.

Not complaining though - I just like flanking people and close combat, and a melee class is the most fun for doing that. I don't think it should be made any easier, but don't think it's fair to say it's broken anymore.
