i was idolized by the NCR and suddenly i was dropped to neutral and i was not wearing anything but a re breather and assassin suit so i have to do a bunch of quests all i did was sneak kill some troopers which does not affect Rep well at least thats what the wiki said so is there anyway i can get my rep up fast with the NCR? (i have done quests at almost all outposts that i know of)

You were probably seen by someone when you were killing the soldiers... Now when you say "sneak kill"
did you:
A. Go into sneak mode
B. Use a silenced weapon or Sandman perk
C. were in [HIDDEN] the whole time

If all apply... then you should not have been caught! Now to fix this I personally would load back if it's not too much trouble, but if theres no way back then just keep doing NCR quests (and there's aloooottt) check the Wiki for a list.

You actually have 2 reputation with a faction. Good rep and bad rep. Neither one should ever go down, except in a few VERY specific circumstances. (getting the Mark of Caeser will reset your bad legion rep once and only once)

Killing people only increases your bad rep. And a bit of both reps (some good some bad) is where you get titles like Wild Child, Sneering Punk and Merciful Thug.

sounds like a bug, if someone would have seen you then your reputation couldn't have dropped to neutral. See the wiki for more info on that.

P. S. If you were idolized, the worst possible rep you can get is "Wild Child" which is treated as neutral, and can never be changed. Wild child is the max of both good and bad.

Messiah is a general title. Individual factions have their own. You should see a message on that screen to switch to individual factions. It's X on the 360, unsure about the others.

Yah i heard alot of people complain about this. I think its actually a bug or glitch.

Maybe a bug that you got caught .... But if you knowingly Killed a ranger patrol then you deserve it.

Maybe you didn't lose the rep right away because they had to call Horatio Cane to investigate the dead bodies, at which point he grabbed his Authority Shades and said:

Did you just get to the strip recently? When you exit the 38, you're supposed to get an NCR pardon that resets your negative rep. It might have bugged out and reset all.

If you're accepted, you're in the green (good) rep and should be able to do all their quests and stuff.

im on the last part of for the republic and i dont want to continue but i always like to be idolized by ncr as you can have special dialogue options
