What happens if...?

Crytek actually release a patch that fixes all the issues we've been reporting? Lets face it, DX11 will not suddenly make the graphics "the holy grail of badasserey" but we might get some light tesselation in spots and some higher res textures if we are lucky. Still what about all the other issues? The login issues, the graphical settings etc. If Crytek fixes all this will anyone be happy? Crytek are being foolish by not answering to all the cries of outrage but could they ever redeem themselves?

Personally, I've been reading these forums since release and my expectations were in the gutter. I bought the game anyway, installed it and was pleasantly surprised. I've been very critical of the console porting ways of Crytek recently but the game isn't too bad. Yes, it's a console port...and yes some things make me cringe as a pc gamer (No options is just ridiculous) but I'm not experiencing any flickering and no performance issues with SLIed 460's and imo it looks "fine", not earth shattering but not terrible either. The gameplay is also "fine" I'm enjoying it so far anyway.

In conclusion thanks gamesas for bringing my expectations down so far that the game actually surprised me in a good way.

We were prepared for worse, but it actually came as a good game. But not THE game !

If you combine liberal POM with spots of tesselation it's a whole new proposition visually. That would transform the game IMO.

Tesselation in spots (where required) backed up by a more liberal use of POM (yes I know that isn't DX11 but was planned to be in the game according to the technology paper posted over on InCrysis) and you have a winner IMO. As for other DX11 effects I don't know what they would add we'll see.
