3D will have so little inpact on performance that the requirements for playing the game in 3D is no higher than the normal requirements. We don't know the exact requirements for Crysis 2 yet, but Crytek said that Crysis 2 wil have almost the same requirements as the original Crysis. So can you run Crysis on very high you could probably run Crysis 2 on very high with 3D too.
The exact impact 3D has on performance is a FPS drop on 1.6%
this means If you run the game on 60FPS without 3D you will run it in ca. 59,35FPS

Correction, 1.5%.
:D
As if it matter ;)

Anyway, you'll need either:
a) Cyan & Red glasses
b) Those polarised glasses (Do they need a monitor?)
c) Active shutter glasses with 3D monitor.

A 3D monitor is 120hz. Typical LCD monitors are 60hz.

I'm so trully sorry for my mistaken information. :)
When I wrote it I was unshure if it was 1.6 or 1.5 so I took a chance :P

I was hoping a Crytek employee would be able to answer this one. I don't want to assume what the requirements are. It very well could be it is 3D right out of the box with special glass or the shutter ones. Not sure which way they are going with it. I know for a fact it is not the old red and blue lenses as you put in post above.

Stereoscopic 3D. Of course you will need a 3D 120Hz monitor, but the glasses needed are currently unknown. Hopefully Crytek can clear that up. :)

From what I could find out on stereoscopic 3d is it may be possible to have the 3D without shutter glasses I think. Hard to find concrete web sites that explain it better. For instance Crytek had a 3D demo of the game and all you needed was 3D glasses and they were not the shutter type.

With the 120hz monitor you can use the Nvidia active shutter glasses, With the polarized I don't know about, but I think it works only with 120hz special projectors.

I'm using a 3d monitor since last week and I have the impression that you don't have any drop in FPSs.

And with the Nvida drivers you can active Red & Cyan 3D in almost every games (at least in all I have) but it's not as good as the polarized or active glasses of course

If you can run Crysis at very high settings, or even in just plain high.
It wouldnt make much of a difference if you put it in 3d, cuz its already amazing in just playing it.
