So in all the videos showing the strip before the game was released the strip wasn't split into 3 sections it was all just one connecting place.

im just curious as to why they split it was it performance related or?

im not saying the new strip as bad considering it has the fastest load time in game just wondering why split it.

Consoles probably couldn't handle it, their load times are already ridiculous as it is.

Because XBOX couldn't handle all the object and lights.

I'd imagine they did that to improve performance, otherwise you'd have a huge number of NPCs to load up every time you entered the Strip.

I don't that it was solely the consoles fault, as I am pretty sure the PS3 can handle it. Look at Infamous and Killzone 3. There are millions of things flashing on the screen and huge explosions and it handles it without a hitch.

Is Infamous a PS3 exclusive?

Explosions and things flashing on the screen don't have AI and schedules to keep.

I for one would love a wide open Strip and Freeside, but I can at least understand why Freeside was segregrated. Wonder if there is a mod for this.....

There's one for The Strip to be full open, but I'm NOT sure about Freeside, but with modders, hell, you never know.

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38056 is The Strip Open. Even on my machine which can handle fallout 3 and New Vegas fully modded without many problems, I still have framerate issues with it.

Most likely separating the strip was due to performance issues not just on the console, but also on the pc too. Just because some of us play our games on a pc doesn't mean we all have high end machines that can handle anything we throw at it and still beg for more.

dude i dont know about you guys but i hope for the love of god bethesda releases dlc that expands new vegas and makes fun things to do in it... the strip was amazing the first 10 minutes i was in it then i just became dull n lame after i walked its entirety in under 1 minute.
