Regulators + Talon Company?

How do I get my character to be permanetly pursued by both the Regulators and Talon Company?

I know it has something to do with Karma. Can it be done with a new character before I leave the Vault for the first time?

You can't have both of them chase you. Talon Company mercs will go after you if you have good karma and Regulators will chase you if you have negative karma. No one chases you if you have neutral karma. And I doubt you could have it happen as you leave the fault, though I could be wrong about that. You need to adjust some karma either way first, and you should still be neutral as you enter the Wasteland. It doesn't take long either way though.

If you have Good karma and drop down to evil karma territory then raise your karma back to Good, you could have both Talons and Regulators after you. It doesn't always happen but when it does, both Talons and Regulators will show up in the same places to attack you.

The only way to make both the Regulators and the Talon Company your enemies is to be Evil. Talon Company won't do the random ambushes while you're evil, only the Regulators will, but Talon Co. is always hostile to the player.

There's no way to get both the Talon Co. and the Regulators to ambush you randomly.

As others have said, get bad karma and then good -- simple. Heh, it can get pretty funny when they both show up -- they seem to hate each other, so occasionally they'll have a battle of their own. :D

Are you sure about that? I would suspect that the Talon Company will stop chasing you if your karma drops from good and vice versa for the Regulators. I haven't put it to the test myself as I always play a good character, but as I see it that's how it should be working.

That's how it's supposed to work, but apparently some folks encounter a bug that prevents one or the other ambusher faction from stopping their ambushes. Not that Talon Company will ever be non-hostile towards you, except in that first ambush encounter as a Good character.

I've played a lot of ping pong karma characters that go from evil to good to neutral and back again. I like to hire Jericho and not stay Evil and then do Good stuff, etc. You get the picture. Anyway, what I've seen happen with these characters is that Regulators or Talons will spawn when your karma is at the appropriate level and you're in the cell, but if you don't interact with them they stay there. They don't unspawn or disappear when your karma changes. So if your karma goes back up/down in the meantime you will begin to get spawns of the other group. That means you can have groups of both kinds in your Wasteland at the same time legitimately. I've never been lucky enough to get both kinds at the same spawn point with any of my characters though. I'm not sure how the whole thing is supposed to work I've never bothered to look in the GECK.

Edit: Oh, and I'm not certain it works exactly like this every time. And we've had long discussions about the Talons and Regulators and whether or not they respawn with regularity and we've never been able to figure that out either. They are just odd, by which I mean they are probably buggy which is why some players get the two groups fighting.

It's been a while since I have played a non-neutral character, but with my evil character I certainly had them both spawning at one point. IIRC one of the groups never gave up: I think it was Talon; I was good for some reason for a very short while and they kept on turning up even when I went back to being evil.
