To counter argue, what I assume is your defence of McNamarra, Hardin seems to suggest that McNamarra's cautious behavior is not normal for a Berotherhood Elder, that an Elder needs to learn that men are sometimes casualties of war; perhaps, for a Brotherhood member, he
is being weak.
