Temper temper..

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:56 am

Has your temper ever got the better of you whilst out in the wastelands? Has your hatred of a certain faction, or a certain creature, ever made you snap and do some things you really regret doing?

For example, the first time I met Cass, I hated her. She was rude and [censored]y, and unfortunately I'm an unforgiving wretch. So I had her killed at the first opportunity.
And I really really hate supermutants, and nightkin. I used every ounce of discipline not to slaughter Neil, because he was kind enough to let me snooze at his shack.. But to get to jacobstown and find out not only am I meant to not kill the supermutants or nightkin, they're to become my companions? No no no. Oh, no no no. Especially not some creepy monster like lilly who really came across as a pedo acting like a granny for perverse reasons. For some reason.
So they were all excecuted.

I dont think I'm a xenophobe, I just think it's quite reasonable not to trust or like the monsters that have previously persued and tormented you. After a certain beast chases you halfway across the desert causing you to aquire a wanton wreckless addiction to every chem you posess, is it so wrong to hate them?

..But I'm worried. Recently, when I go to visit my buddies at lucky38, Raul seems to be giving me some very unpleasant looks. I think I may have to kill him, next.

Clarification: Do you intend for us to answer this question as if we, the gamer, have lost our tempers, or rather if our characters that we are role-playing have lost their tempers? These could be 2 very different things, one of which will probably give rise to copious amounts of caterwauling about bugs and glitches. Just askin'.

On my Intelligence 1 Powder Ganger character I killed every Boomer because they just had to try to blow me up... Nobody tries to blow me up.

I was really angry at caesars legion for the horrible things they do to powder gangers, even though powder gangers don't like me. I was about to splatter the leader, but then I saw the other caesar legion guys and I quickly put away my little 9mm pistol when I saw they all had revolvers. I almost killed the guy that was yelling his head off about the lottery when I saw he was a powder ganger. They already hate me enough

Oh yeah, man. Lost my temper on Mr. House. Killed him dead. Walked out. Carried on with my game.

Why did I regret it?

In my haste, I forgot to turn in all the snow globes I had collected.

I thought the Nipton Lottery was some pretty sick crap. So I put a hole in Vulpes's head. And in another playthrough I put a hole in his head before he could give me the Mark of Caesar. Talk about a guy who has it coming.

I just wish I could catch him indoors, then I could blow his head off and leave it in the toilet, they way I did Benny.

I loved Cass the moment I met her. I wasnt able to recruit her until my late 20s. So when I found out what the Van Graphs and McLafferty did I first did the calm approach and sorted it all out. Then I did the pressing matters mission for McLafferty. She came across a a crabby ungrateful coot. I went to Freeside to buy some stuff and was attacked on site by the VanGraphs so I slaughtered them all. I let Cass do the siblings in, she had enough reason. Then she was all wtf! Let's do this proper. So I put a 12.7mm in McLafferty's head. No I have both Cass's perks.

I kill anything affiliated with the NCR & Brotherhoood; Crimson Cravan, Gun Runners everyone and thing. Veronica, after leading me to my friends the Boomers and the ultimate anti-power armour weapon was the first to test it out for me. Emo Boone better be grateful that my character has no motive to speak to him. :chaos:

Oliver [censored] Stanwick. I hate this guy and always kill him before he can give the "Yeeeeaaaahhh! Who won the lottery?" crap.

Though all I really regret is that I have to start another playthrough in order to kill him again.

Sorry, to clarify I suppose I mean, have you ever lost your temper with a creature/npc in the game to the extent you've told your charecter to do something really stupid that's going to make their wasteland life quite difficult/unpleasant/painfull?
