Radio>TV>Radio?

Post » Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:52 am

I'd personally like to see a possibility of broadcasting television in the future of Fallout! The wastelanders have already somehow picked up the ability to broadcast radio, and Mr. House isn't the only intelligent person out there. I'd like to see environments of meteocre theatre with people gathered around a t.v in casino bars. I personally think it'd be a nice touch. Or maybe the wastelanders could dig out old series DVDs?

So? It wasn't a joke, broadcasting television is much more complicated than radio broadcasting. Jerk.

Didn't say it wasn't. Who says they can't figure it out. Obviously you wouldn't know

I believe NCR already has TV. Vault City and other towns in Fallout 2 had working computers and monitors. Hell people were making porm! So the tech is already out there, its just back in the West. On the frontier of NCR (Mojave) setting up TV would not be high on the todo list.

Someone like Caesar could benefit from TV, to bad he hates technology. Hitler was one of the first peope to make use of the Radio, imagine what he could have done with TV. I bring that up because there would be great power in setting up TV. Its just that those that have the tech don't seem to care about its possible power.

The others are right. It all comes down to "what is there to watch?" Then there would have to be the mass production of television sets. Setting up of relay stations and so on. Possible reason why tv is low on NCRs todo list.

I don't know, Rockstar did quite a job on their TV.

But I guess its fairly minor...maybe they can use those video as game ads like world of the future series?

I can see it now " I would help save your town from raiders but is it gonna take very long cause my show is gonna be on tonight"

Though maybe some prewar looped "you have nothing to worry about news casts" might be funny and would be neat if they hid a quest in the program like directions to a good loot spot.

But personally I really would not want more than that.

Radio is cheaper, simpler, more reliable to both broadcast and receive. Building a radio is MUCH simpler than building even the most primitive TV, therefore radio is a more effective way of spreading the message to the masses under Fallout conditions.

TV is the luxury of a smoothly working civilization.

Wait wait wait....Save the Brotherhood? That is a "peaceful" thing to do? You have got to be kidding me. They'd probably take away the tv's just because they could be made into superweapons or some stupid [censored] like that.

Anyways enough ripping, if they could incorperate tv into the game that would be really cool, I mean rockstar did it and really well at that. Although the Tv would have to be retro re-runs or maybe even some new stuff if they gave it a good enough backstory for beeing so.

TV would be a nice touch, but the situation in Fallout: NV where they are having problems with power I doubt there would be TV signal out there. I'd say if the developers allowed an after game DLC and the dam was secured by a reliable protector and was able to restore reliable power through out the Mojave then it would be plausible for a TV signal to be available.

A better idea would be for visual holotapes, that would be a great avenue for the developers to provide more of the fallout universe story and information to players who haven't played the original Fallout games, other than reading the wikia.

Like finding some recorded pre-war news broadcasts! Just imagine how awesome it would be to find video recordings of the news that was broadcast the day the bombs fell. They'd be talking about some kitty stuck in a tree and some news about technology from RobCo or a new record from Dean Domino then suddenly breaking news about an atomic strike!
