So on like my 4th or 5th playthrough I am a African American woman but is it just me or does the skin color for it look bad/messed up? It looks like red almost. Even if you lighten the head/face area it will look even worse because the upper torso and arms color can't be changed and stay that strange reddish color. Anyone else know what I'm talking about? If so any suggestions?
I think there is a "red" slider at chracter creation, try turning that one down somewhat. Think there is "saturation" as well, turn that one down a couple of notches too.

Or it could be that the character creation for it is screwed up. F3 had it better.

Skintones are horrible in this game. Not that they're usually great in any game, but urgh. It took me forever to figure out how to do a half-way decent Asian skintone. It was either way too yellow or way too red. And that's not even counting weird sky filters.
