To those experiencing frequent freezes/crashes

Post » Tue Mar 16, 2010 8:25 pm

Do your systems have a hard drive (assuming your playing on consoles)? If so, is it almost full (i.e. less than a GB)? I keep hearing people complaining about feezes/crashes, but I've only had one or freezees in the 100+ hrs I've played. I remember that I had CONSTANT freezes in FO3 B4 I had a Hard drive (I have a 360 and its and arcade model, so it was a while till I got a HDD), but as soon as I got one the freezes stopped (for the most part). It couldn't have been an update either, as my console wasn't hooked up to the internet at the time, so I had no updates on it The point of this is just that I was wondering if a lack of a HDD or space on it is what is causing your issues. Hopefully if thats it you can solve it and there will be less complaining.

Nope I have plenty of gigs left.

I don't remember it freezing nearly as much in Vanilla.

I also don't remember F3 freezing as much as the newest patch of NV either. :shakehead:

Wait until you put some hrs in get a few megabites of info on a save. It will happen to you too. The freeze gets everyone smoothskin.

Yeah, I am working on a mod for FO3, and whenever it freezes I always wonder if it was because of something I did modding or not, and from what me and my few friends testing it who are familiar with FO3, said the freezes aren't noticeably any more frequent than the amount of hang-ups we remember running into once we had gotten farther into most of our legit playthroughs. As long as it isn't repeatable, it's considered to be a normal (yet unfortunate) part of the game. I think the size of your save file may play some part in the freezing problem, as the last post stated. I know that going to and exploring Point Lookout in particular adds a large amount of memory to your save. I guess it may be the game's way of telling you that you should take a break, like those little reminders that come up while you're playing the Wii...
