.50MG Anti-Material 3 shots and they're dead in hardcoe, 2 shots one being a sneak shot and they're dead for good. Sometimes I like to place some mines and watch them run run run towards me hahahahah then blow, they're now cripped.

Last I checked you could kill a deathclaw with a single .50MG while in sneak mode with the proper build.

Depends on the character, but my two favorite methods:

Remnants Power Armor, Slasher, Oh Baby!

(does anyone know if SuperSlam works on them? That character has the perk, but never stopped to actually see if they were falling. Just swung like crazy until they explode)

Or

Boone (for the perk) Brush Gun with handload rounds, and possibly some psycho. If there's a large group of em, switch to Ratslayer with AP rounds and A LOT of distance. So far away that you can't even see them w/o the scope. And slowly plink em down. Very slowly. Changing locations from time to time. Guerilla tactics, whittle them down to nothing.

Or

Q-35 or Holorifle (fully modded) and Max Charge. Always keep a couple dozen Max MFC around, just in case.

Automatic Rifle w/ JSP rounds destroys everything. It's expensive to run, you'll need to carry some weapon repair kits from the vending machine to keep it in top shape but it works against every enemy.

It has a good rate of fire for knocking cazadores out of the air and shredding any enemy with no DT. Has big damage that easily cripples the limbs of deathclaws stunning them, just aim for the torso and they won't be able to close in to hit you. If you have bloody mess it turns all humans into blood soup, sometimes making it very difficult to sort and loot multiple dead bodies.

The only real problem with the gun is the small clip size but I used the agility glitch for lightning fast reloads.

In hardcoe? I don't know for sure, but maybe you might with a higher damage bullet, but 95% of the times it will take at least a couple bullets to kill them, which is not that hard since they have no idea where the [censored] you are at. I also like using the YCS/186 with max charged MF cells and that takes them out with a single shot.

The Quarry Deathclaws and occasionally others have double the HP of normal Deathclaws. It's easy to reach 250 damage with a sneak headshot but reaching 500 is tough on Very Hard.

I enjoy both observing Deathclaws and fighting them. I tend to throw large piles of vegetables in their direction; I think that Deathclaws need the nutrients that humanity just can't provide. Don't want the Deathclaws to get scurvy, after all.

For the best fun, just go to the Promontory with a Hunting Shotty and the two shotgun perks. Everytime you knock one over, make sure to call it a p@$$y in a sarcastic way, since you'll be gulping down stimpacks. No sneaking, either.
For the best way to deal with them, Automatic Rifle w/ JSPs. Made mincemeat out of a "legend".

Laser RCW with Max Charge. It might sound wierd, but it comes straight out of the other side of the deathclaw. It owns. Just make sure you have companions as a bait.

For the Legendary Deathclaw? Turbo, and a shotgun with Bean Bag shots. The thing just falls on the floor, and you and your companions can just shoot it to death.

The Avenger kills them way too fast. "Less than a second" fast.

They were really scary at the beginning of the game, but when you get a high dps weapon and AP rounds, they go down like everything else.

The deathclaws have never been a really dangerous enemy in the Fallout games.
In the originals, if you had at least combat armor, they may as well have been hitting you with boxing gloves on their hands.
In New Vegas, the real-time combat allows us to kill them before they get anywhere near us.

I support "Walking-Tank" deathclaws for FO4.
