For my money NV is better than F3 except for all the damn freezes. I didn't care for exploring subway tunnels too much. A couple is fine, but not 97 of em.

I think that it is a great game. Personally I would rather suggest fallout 3 first if you already don't have that. Fallout new Vegas has somethings that are better but some downsides. The bugs and glitches can be annoying and some funny. The story I think is more political and make you choose more, and for the ending everything that you do in quests affect the ending. Obsedian did make the combat a bit better and easier to play with, (example is that you can aim down the sight of most guns). The actual town of New Vegas is fun and rewarding and if you enjoy gambling in video games and playing games like blackjack and roulette then that is fun and an easy way to get more caps. Overall I would recommend this game if you're looking for a good rpg. If you've played other fallout games then I would recommend this too. Have fun if you do get the game.

Ace, simply put. Do you feel New Vegas is worth getting yes or no?

Yes but it is as the price it stays and not any farther.

It's too bad the modding scene seems to have utterly died.

8 users in the modding section? 15 users in this, the general discussion section? Yeah. This game is basically dead.

There are a lot of "good points" as to why you should get it (most of which has already been mentioned). However, there are some low points of New Vegas as well (i.e. Glitching, and arguably the story-line) Some people will argue New Vegas "should have been an expansion pack for Fallout 3 rather than a whole new game, etc. In my opinion, it makes a decent new game, as the plot is different (though a little more 'personal' than reactivating a water purifier or whatever... I don't recall exactly the big picture of Fallout 3 lol), the enemies are harder to kill (:: cue cazadors and geckos ::), and gameplay is now affected by character reputation and karma. It requires over 200 hours of playing to complete the main quest and has over 27 different possible endings. Just to obtain every quest the game offers, you would have to play the game through-and-through 3 1/2 times.

When it comes to whether you should or should not get the game, it is more or less an "aquired taste." Some people like it, some people don't. I suppose if you've been playing since the early days of Fallout (1, 2, Brotherhood, etc.), then expect disappointment from what I've heard. If you're like me, who enjoys just running around exploring and killing mutated beasts and such, then yeah, you will definitely enjoy it. :fallout:

Prove it then. Tell me which legendary version can you annihilate on Level 3 with nothing but 10MM SMG, because I recall being a complete god in the F3 super-mutant trenches with the exactly same level and loadout. :whistling:

I'll start slapping my knees in the meantime, ta-da. :vaultboy:

not to be a smeg here, but you can kill Legendary Night Stalker with abit of ease at level 3 if you kinda mange to go to new vegas at that level get a ton of money in the strip, get the implants buy the best stuff you can get at level 3 from the gun runners. Then fight the night stalker. If that doesn't work keep trying and he might get stuck cause of his legs. That would take alot of time (alot of running from exp and crazy deathclaws too) but you ask for it

I can kill the legendary at level 3 no problem. It's all the other night stalkers in there that kill me after it's dead.

Ayup, but there's the big if.

First you have to survive your way to the Strip, somehow get all the money for the implants, survive the way back and then fight him and the pack. Hell, you even needed the leg exploit to kill him.
All I did in my original post was comparing it to the D.C. trenches(supposedly a brutal battlezone) where you could storm through it like a hurricane with little to no effort.

I say wait until the GOY edition comes out. With all the dlcs and most likely most of the bugs and glitches fixed.

It will be a while but i would say its worth the wait.

If you not willing to wait it is worth getting but get ready to smash your controller into the ground with the freezes and such.

Hell are you kidding me thats the easy part. You dont have to fight anything to get to the strip anyways.

Oh hell yes you do.
You either take you chance and try to sneak through the deathclaw lair, or take the loooong road through Nipton, the valley and deal with the trash mob on the way.

And even that, it still means you have to put some effort in it and not just go there guns blazing and be done with it. I rest my case.

Hell yeah!

On the way to New Vegas, I got smothered by the Vipers with the metal armor, so I popped a stealthboy I got from Joe Cobb and snuck by.

As the question is said in title, is it worth getting? i played fallout 3 and i loved it. So will you give me the the low and high points of it and explain why i should get it or why not. Thanks
Also, whats new and whats better in the game.

if you liked fo3 then fnv is an absolute must play.

high points: the writing is some of the best writing i've ever seen in a game. while there are a lot of small changes and throwbacks to the originals (fo and fo2) that are all very well done, for me the writing sets this game apart.

low points: tech issues. i can't lie, they can be game breaking at times (literally). the game freezes waaaay too much (i'm on ps3 btw) and there are some other annoying little bugs (like vendor bugs) and though i have not experienced them, there is a host of quest breaking bugs. this is the sole reason i did not buy new. i bought my copy for $25 and i felt that was an acceptable price. there were times while playing, i was asking myself how anyone could have let this out the door. tech issues are the only reason to avoid this game because everything else about it is exceptional.

my opinion: this is the 'real' fo3, the true sequel. fo3 should have really been called fallout: dc. buy it used, buy it cheap, and you'll be able to overlook the inevitable tech issues you will have and be able to truly enjoy the brilliant game that is fallout new vegas.

I played just over 500hrs on Fallout 3 and New Vegas so far just a little over 300hrs. Do I like the game? Are you kidding me I not only check all locations I check the locations that don't show on the map as well and pick-up every single item there is to be taken. From tin cans to empty bottles of sunset sarsaparilla(still don't know how to spell this thing). My opnion is don't even get close to this game if you don't have to. I'm a lost case, been addicted to this game for me it's the best game because it suits me and my addiction. Stay away from Fallout if you never played it before don't lose your money and more important your time on this game. Fallout 3 was bad, when they launched the patches the game became pretty much what New vegas is today a broken game if we can call this a game. Bethesda might have my money, damn I happily paid 60 bucks for it when it came out and would pay again even knowing how crappy this game is. I already bought the Dead Money patch and I'm 100% sure I'll buy the coming others as well. They have my money, but they sure won't have my recommendation for anyone to buy this game ever ever if these freezes and bugs keep on coming in future Fallout. Shame Bethesda to see how you treat your fidel customers, real shame.

The game is lovely, if I could finish it. As it stands right now it's completely unplayable & I'm only half way through. Apparently my save file is too big for the game to handle so it freezes. Until Bethesda comes out with a patch for this extremely common bug I would definitely not recommend the game, no. :shakehead:

If you recently finished playing FO3, then no. It is too similar and it will just feel like more of the same. You won't appreciate New Vegas for what it is and it will become tiresome pretty quickly.

If it's been a while since you played FO3, then you should definitely get New Vegas. Although it is similar to FO3, it is a noticable improvement in several areas and, personal opinions aside, it is the better game.

It's definitely a good game but to be honest it has problems, mostly depends on if you get a good disc or not. but now is definitely the time to get it with the new patch coming very soon which SHOULD fix most of the bugs/glitches ppl have been reporting :)
