@Console Users: Don't Feel Too Bad

Post » Sun Apr 04, 2010 4:09 pm

You might have to wait until the end of the week to get your patch while we have it now, but remember that updates break mods, which most PC users on this forum have. Sure I can load up my game, sure it looks awesome, sure I have all this cool extra stuff and the benefits from the patch, but due to how patches break mods, I can't even open my pipboy. Yep. Can't equip anything, can't drink water to not die from thirst, can't look at the map. Not just that, but I can't sprint, use night vision, or anything really. The game is basically broken until NVSE updates. So really, you aren't missing out on much. And yes, I set Steam not to download the patch. It did it anyway.

Lots of stuff in my game doesn't work, and won't for a while. That should make up for time lost on the patch due to Sony / Microsoft incompetence / greed.

EDIT: Is it just me or are image tags totally broken?

I was just messing around with my PS3 the horribleness that is PShome (or whatever the F it is) doesn't work, BUT, it did still update..

Perhaps not being able to sign in won't actually affect being able to upgrade to the new patch?

(I've already tried a few times but I live in England, not the U.S..)

Hmmm. When was the last time you used Home? I got the update for it myself just there, but I hadn't used it in months. Could just be that old updates are still available for downloading.

I'm still optimistic though. But I doubt I'll stay up until whenever it's midnight in America just to check.

Even though they are broken at least you have the availability of mods. :sadvaultboy:
Damnit Bethesdian, release some mods to use console users! (Even if you have to recreate them yourself. (But you're big boys right, I'm sure you can handle putting together something even a modder could do, I mean, you're after all the professionals right? Shouldn't be any problem to you..)

Sure they could, as long as they're ported right.
Couldn't exactly take a mod as it is and directly just put it up for download.
Needs it's own QA and professional porting.

Still, I hardly think the developers can't just throw together a couple of mods themselves and release it on XBLA/PSN.

I reckon the ps3 in time could but the 360 is beginning to die technology wise R.I.P 360.

I was going to get NV for my I7 Dell but I don't like KB/M combo's.. Doesn't feel right to me for some reason. Would have been nice to have had access to mods/mod builders but thats the sacrifice you make I guess.

Always have that option of hooking the 360 controller up to your PC. Well worth it if you don't like M&KB. If you use PS3 there's a lot of USB gamepads made by Logitech that shamelessly copy the Dualshock layout (basically DS2 controllers with re-labeled buttons) and have good quality.

Didn't realise you could.. I actually have an Xbox360 joypad too. Pretty big and clunky though tbh. I prefer the PS3 pad. (Actually I prefer the Gamecube controller to anything, damn them for not making a usb version) I already have the game now though, perhaps I'll get Fallout 4 when it's released for PC.

Funny, (if anyone enjoys play FNV and F3 on console I eouldnvt insult them yet) I have two things to say: mods and Community Bugfix Compliation Patch. They still didn't seem to fix the Demolition Perk form list, not to mention, way the vanilla fatigue system works.
