Steam patch 1.3 now LIVE!

Is this a glitch?

My 12.7 mm submachine gun has a DAM of 37! I found it in a state of disrepair with a Dam of 26 and when I repaired it BAM 37 DAM. I play on the PS3, btw.

I haven't downloaded the patch yet; I'm afraid to because now I'm told that the code that was changed and broke Boone on Patch 1.2 has not been fixed in the new patch. It was tested on an old save and a new game but the reholstering of his weapon during combat is still happening even with an enemy right in his face.

"an issue in the VDialogueCraigBooneSCRIPT. There is a section that monitors the player's reputation with the NCR and triggers a force greet if certain conditions are met. The code was causing Boone to evaluate his packages every five seconds even when not required. Two semicolons fixes it. On hindsight, it's pretty obvious what was happening. An EVP will cause an NPC to drop out of combat - holster their weapon. When run constantly, apparently it breaks head tracking in the follow packages also."

I have people asking me if the game is ok now so they can buy it but I can't tell them yes until it is. I'm not mad...just very sad and feel *bad*..............

NPC

* Jackal gang members may carry grenade launchers at level 10 or above.
* Viper gunslingers may carry grenade launchers at level 8 or above, and may carry 9mm submachine guns or Grenade rifles below level 8. They are also far less likely to carry .44 magnum revolvers or 10mm submachine guns.
* Viper gang leaders may carry 9mm submachine guns below level 6, grenade rifles up to level 14, and have a high chance of carrying grenade launchers at level 14 or above.
* The AI packages of Primm residents have been altered, reasons unknown.
* The inventories of certain NCR Rangers present for President Kimball's speech have had minor alterations done to their inventories, primarily to alter the condition of their armor.

Creatures

* Some Glowing Ones will no longer respawn.
* Spore plants have been altered to work differently within VATS.
* Cazadors will no longer attack targets until they are significantly closer (4,000 game units, lowered from 10,000).

Sorry if this old new anyways

Demo Expert is still pretty kickass if you're going to use Mercy or the Fat Man like I do, and it's always affected grenade launchers and rifles. Only thing it doesn't affect is Missile Launchers, so if that's your only explosive interest, yeah, get splash damage.

Sorry if im going off-topic but why does the Vault-wiki state that the Missile launcher is affected by the Dem exp perk while Annabelle isn't. Is that wrong and they both aren't affected or...?

Nice to see that weapons weren't all that were tweaked. I'd like to hear more of these.

The only hunch I have is that it could be tonight at midnight, or some time tomorrow. The reason being is that Wednesday is the day the EU store updates. Of course the store is offline, but maybe the whole system updates on wednesdays. Other than that, we're screwed.

it doesn't say that. Demo Expert affects mines, grenades of every kind, and the fat man.

Thanks for the feedback, but please evaluate the lever-action weapons... snipped.

Josh, I just learned about the Obsidian layoffs and wanted to say that I have faith that the problem I posted about will be fixed when you can do it. There are a lot more important things in life than a broken Boone. Good luck to you and your team.

Strange because I could have sworn it did say that before but now it's been changed. Anyway thanks I guess.
