you mean map size? its slightly smaller but i guarnetee you wont notice. Content wise? depends on what you mean by "as big"....characters are much more fleshed out..there are PLENTY of things to do in the wasteland here...i would say if you liked FO3 then give NV a spin you wont be dissapointed.

It's about the same size if not alittle bigger from what I recall from a Q&A with the devs from along time ago. It's just shaped more up and down rectangler while FO3 was more like a square. If the coming DLCs open up the north, east and southeast passages, then FONV will be alot bigger than FO3.

You'll get more and better quests but less explorable locations that don't serve any other purpose than exploring them.
So if you like story and or questing you'll like it, if you prefer aimlessly roaming around and exploring you might be a bit dissapointed.
At least thats what some people complained about.

I like it.

Maps are about same size I think but FONV has some areas closed off by invisible walls (usually around high hills and such).

It has less dungeon, the map is bigger than FO3 but works differently.
Other than that it's bigger in every way.
More quests, more perks, more weapons, more factions, more storylines, better companions, better mechanics.

So is it "bigger".
In terms of overall area, including map AND dungeons, no.
In terms of quests and other content, yes.

Yeah dude, plus it's only like 18 bucks at gamestop used.

Deffinatly worth getting.

Besides if you don't like it gamestop has a 48 hour exchange policy for used games.

Used FONV? How's that supposed to work with Steam activation and all?

The map is about the same size but there's a lot of open space; it gives the illusion of being smaller. The pip-boy map shows a lot of unused space in the margins but don't let that worry you -- it's just filler to make the map square.
As someone said, there's not as much interior exploration.
New Vegas is geared toward plot and questing -- it lacks F3's epic sense of exploration, though it's nowhere as bad in this regard as its detractors claim.

AFAIK you can install it on as many systems and register it with Steam as many times as you like.

Umm, console versions?

Once you activate your license it's tied to your Steam account. You can install it as many times as you want, sure, but why would they let you activate the same key on several accounts? That would be silly.

The navigable map is not as big as fo3. It is big enough though.

There is more total quest content in fo nv than fo3.

There is much more world to be explored in fo3 IMO.

There are major world differences, If you put the majority of your hours in fo3 exploring the map to its limits you will feel fo nv is lacking on that aspect. IMO

If you love quests then nv has more total quests.

Either way its similar enough to fo3 that you should get it if that is what you are wondering. IMO
