Lucks quite important, but SPECIAL generally isnt very important and doesn't really determine anything, tis all about Skills.

Which is why Intelligence is the most important stat.

Luck's the most thematically fitting, though.

Intelligence all the way ;)

Although I do have a character with 1 intelligence, makes for some interesting conversation at times lol

Intelligence is pretty important, for reasons already stated.

However, I probably couldn't live without at least 5 or 6 Agility, as drawing and reload times become incredibly sluggish.

Intelligence and Agility.
Any playthroughs I've attempted with either below 7 has failed within the hour, and now, whichever Fallout it might be, I always put both to 9, and use Implants for 10.

I would have to say Intelligence is the most important stat.

Having 2 Agility is a pain, I was not satisfied with low agility, that's why that character only made it to level 15.
I think Agility and Intelligence are the most important, but Strength and Perception are important for accuracy.
STR Req. affects accuracy
Perception affects accuracy
The skill of your designated type of gun affects accuracy.

If you are playing a Guns character. I suggest Agility to be 8 or 9. Perception to be 7 or 8 (maybe 9) and Strength to be 6. (7 if you want Riot Shotgun)

List of Importance (from my point of view) from Most Important to Least Important on a Guns character: (Not a critical hit specialist)
Agility
Strength
Perception
Intelligence
Endurance
Luck
Charisma

Since when?

All of them are needed at certain levels in order to unlock certain perks.

Strength provides carrying weight, which in hardcoe mode, can be very important for some weapons.
Perception provides your line of sight. Personally I don't find it too important with ED-E, but there are still good perks tied to this trait.
Endurance is how many hits you can take and how many implants you can get. Pretty self explainatory.
Charisma, ok, is perhaps not so important. Only a couple perks tied to it.
Intelligence, as it's been stated, gives you more skills.
Agility determines how quickly you reload and draw your weapon, and like Perception, has very useful perks tied to it.
And Luck determines your casino luck. 10 Luck basically gives you free money, whereas 1 luck means you won't get a dime. It also has other effects, of course.

If you truly think these have nothing to do with gameplay, then I'd love to see you do a gameplay with all of them set to 1.

Intelligence is the only attribute with long-term impact on your character so that is what I chose, everything else has workaround perks or aren't terribly useful compared to the increase in skill points.

This. What's the most important SPECIAL's just depends on what kind of character you're building. :)

I find LUCK to be not very important at all. Has a few checks, otherwise it's for gambling and maxing critical hit chance, neither of which are terribly vital to winning the game or having oodles of caps. I tend to leave it at 4.

In FNV?
None of them are really important.
The one I value over others is Strength I guess. For weapon STR reqs.

In the old games I valued AGI far more than any other stat though.

I would say the most important is endurance, then luck close behind. Endurance because hitpoints are useful to any character, but even more because endurance determines how many implants you can have. Then luck for criticals and gambling.

It really does depend on the build of the character.

overall importance:intelligence for skills

NCR ranger build:Agility and Endurance
Star Wars Scoundrel:Charisma mainly and luck and perception (energy weapons=blaster pistols)

others i do not know

I went with agility, because it helps with gun skill, and ap points.

Intelligence is great for getting a bunch more skill points to help you become Uber.

I can get 100 in guns, lockpick, science, and speech with 6 int.

What else do I need???? 100 repair is the ony thing I d missed out on. I have 82, so if there was something I had to have 100 to do I could read a mag.

High intelligence = Uber

I'm surprised people are arguing Intelligence, considering it takes two intel points to gain 1 extra skill points per level in New Vegas. At the same time, barely anyone is mentioning Endurance.

I mean, the difference between a 1 Endurance character and a 10 endurance character is 200 health points. The difference between a 1 int character and a 10 int character is 150 skill points. That's not counting perks of course, but yeah. Yes int perks will allow for a much larger boost, but you only need 4 int for them, and I mean let's face it: 1 HP point is a lot harder to gain than 1 skill point. I'd agree completely for Fallout 3, but in New Vegas, Intel doesn't feel as neccesary.

Intelligence and strength
Intelligence gets more skill points at level up
Strength effects weapon handling and how much you can carry. I chose intelligence because I want a character with most stats at 50+

No endurance. No implants.

Crank that stat out to 8-9.

My vote is for Endurance because if you don't have hit points you die. I would follow that with Intelligence.
