For those interested before my question some RP backstory: So I started a playthrough as a tribal and an ex-Viper(If only the Vipers around weren't just hostile throwbacks to Fallout 1.) and after my travels after a brief payback I've settled on who I want to run with that apparently fits me the most, moreso than the Legion: The Khans. Because of them I had a walk(Hah! deathtrap more like) through Bittersprings. Knowing their angst against the NCR but not personally having any NcR hate(other than expansion over former tribal-raideresque lands) I did nothing there. Rather after going through Nelson I used the oppertunity to help Khan's allies and appease to Papa Khan(Wiping out Forlorn Hope. Ah what poison and NCR explosives does. Only the jail boy stands) so after a brief stop at Novac, Neil's, an through Fiend Territory I'm at the Longhouse.
Onto the question:
So I was told by a friend that after completing We Are Legion if you speak wirh Papa he's supposed to speak about it and just for show purposes offer to name you his successor after he steps down.
When I Spoke to him this dialogue wasn't there. Tried a reload and reboot too. Bug?
What's your Great Khan reputation? I think you have to be at least 'liked' (and not wearing faction armor including Khan armor when you speak to him). He'll name you his heir after completing We Are Legion and speaking to him afterwards.
Note that it's not only for show, if you kill Papa Khan without the other Khans noticing (at night, sneak kill while he's sleeping in his bed) you can actually become the Khan chieftain afterwards. Speak with Regis, and he'll confirm you're in charge. Then you can choose what route to take: Fight for the Legion, fight for the NCR, or fight for themselves and kill everyone at Hoover Dam.
This third option actually creates another independent faction at the Dam, besides Legion, NCR and House/Yes Man, altough the Khans can't win the Dam. This is supposed to be the 'suicidal last stand' ending I believe. The fourth option is to give leadership of the Khans to Regis and to tell him to take the Khans North during the Battle of Hoover Dam.
