Alternate Safehouses

Post » Tue Apr 27, 2010 9:19 am

My character is a Ranger and I'm looking for places in the wasteland I can use as alternative safehouses to the ones in towns and places. Must have a bed and safe storage would be preferable. Any suggestions?

(as a plus, it would be great if it was in an area there isn't much ranger influence over at the moment)

Abandoned Shack just east of Goodsprings Cemetary.
Abandoned BOS Bunker if you have Dead Money.
Novac Motel Room.

Good luck with the search.

Me? I don't trust ANY storage other than Novac and the Lucky 38. Not even in the faction safehouses.

All it took was losing a crapload of loot in a container that the wiki told me was safe and I became paranoid forever.

Depends on RP purposes, as well. For House/Yes Man playthroughs, you're gonna want to live in the Lucky 38, despite the loading screens. CL and Ranger Safehouses for their respective playthroughs. Other than that, the Novac Motel Room, Abandoned BoS bunker (although it wouldn't make much sense for a Ranger to live there), and Wolfhorn Ranch (which is close to a Legion Camp you may chose to attack) are good choices.

I like using the Harper's shack as my armory it has alot of room and theirs the occasionally vipers there to get free xp from every-time you go to visit. Plus there are at least 2 death-claws around it...so nobody is getting in there.

My favourite non player designated home is Hells Motel,it really should have been a player base.I use the Rad Child perk and Rad Absorbsion,so its a perfect location for me.This building has a really nice layout to it in my opinion.

Harper's Shack. It's by the Deathclaw cave containing Mercy and by a Gecko/Viper Gunslinger Spawnpoint. They're both far enough away that the place is safe and they can't see you unless you go a good distance to get to them. It's got plenty of room for things, the only problem is it's a little dark, but that's what the Pip-Boy light is for.

Are all of the containers in Hells Motel save?
And can I place item like weapons on the tables so that they don't disappear? I would really like to move there.

Harper's Shack is my favorite. Feels like home.
Just remember to kill the Blind Deathclaw out back or you'll get an unwanted night visit. Hell of a way to wake up.
Oh, and ED-E tends to stir up the neighbors to the south. If you have him as a companion you'll have to get used to Deathclaws in your yard now and then.

The Emergency Service Railyard might be good, it's got a bed, plenty of storage, no enemies spawn in the immediate vicinity and there's no door, so you just fast travel there. Oh, and there's a campfire.

The ranger safe house is my favorite and the only reason I don't use it us because of the followers only going back to the luck 38. It's hard to get to but well protected by deathclaw.
