My favorite gun in all of fallout is the brushgun. In one if my threads I read (much to my dismay) that the brush gun was nerfed. Is this true?!?!?

The gun is still quite good even with the increased AP costs and slower fire rate. With .45-.70 SWC ammo and cowboy it still does the most damage/ap of all the rifles. Also the forged receiver seems to be fixed now and works with weapon repair kits which is kind of useful.

if you have a good EW skill and Dead Money, the Holorifle is way better.

?Brush Gun - Spread increased from 0.03 to 0.06; AP Cost increased from 23 to 33; Now can only fire ~1.23 shots per second compared to ~1.85 pre-patch
Taken from http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1182921-patch-13-stat-changes-the-ongoing-list/

It's still does ridiculous damage, so you can still completely murder a deathclaw just make sure you get a bit closer to get that 95% in VATS.

I was walking around Quarry Junction today testing [REDACTED] with Raul (Old Vaquero upgrade) armed with a Brush Gun loaded with SWCs. His Deathclaw-slaying ability is legendary.

Around here, mixing a Brush gun with SWC rounds and Danny Trejo's voice equals annihilation :P

Hmm, I've always been confused by the Trail Carbine and the Brush Gun. Hmmprh, I guess it's back to The Vault and do some number crunching provided by generous uploaders. I really need to see which is higher tier.

-Brush Gun is the higher tier. If all you care about is having the highest DAM/DPS rating with a LA weapon, and too hell all other stats, then this is the gun for you.

-Trail Carbine is the better long ranged weapon with the scope mounted. If ammo weight and weapon durability matters to you the Trail Carbine wins big on both points. A +51% greater ammo load and 500 shots of SWC ammo (up to 2,000 with Raul around) between repair cycles is nice.

The 1.3 patch adjustments had the greatest impact with VATS combat. My character that has exactly zero VATS related perks lost a shot. Outside of VATS the changes had a surprisingly little effect. My Trail Carbine is still just as deadly at long ranged sniping as the higher spread had almost no effect on torso shots at max range. For a late game character on normal difficulty a sneak attack to the torso is a one shot kill to a deathclaw.

Ooh! I love me some guessing games. Just what could [REDACTED] be? It is obviously a noun. Is it a proper noun, like the name of a perk or possibly a DLC or is it a regular noun like "weapon balance", a new weapon or armor. Oh, this is gonna be good.........Josh, you're such a tease.

-Gunny out.
