So as much as I loved this game

I loved the gameplay, the story, companions, etc. Also, I'm a big Fallout 1 and 2 fan, and this felt like a true sequel, but the New Vegas setting didn't really appeal to me that much. I would have much rather somewhere else in the Fallout Universe, Did anyone else not like the Vegas setting?

it was an ok setting, although the wide open wasteland is kind of boring now. I'd like to head to a place where its not just wasteland. Maybe Canada?(plenty of forest), or maybe explore a new State we have yet to visit.

I thought it was ok. I thought all the areas around New Vegas were nice, but New Vegas itself seemed very boring to me. I would have expected it to be bigger, more flashy and have more things to do. If i ever needed to buy anything, New Vegas is the last place I'd go (If you don't count the gun runners as part of New Vegas.) Overall, the actual City of New Vegas seemed very boring compared to the rest of the Mojave wasteland, in my opinion.

In my opinion one of fonv biggest let downs the strip itself is a joke and the mojave wasteland has a shack fetish . :cryvaultboy:

The setting is decent, but only for a while.

The Strip is nicely done, but It doesn't give a good feeling of that "Las Vegas" feel. The Strip was decently recovered and preserved, but the length of The Strip itself is very short, and the amount of casinos and points of interests was pretty low. However, It kinda made sense of its state on Fallout because of sake of performance and space. Freeside also could've been a bit bigger with its unused space used more effectively. And maybe perhaps New Vegas could be bigger so more districts can be made for realism. The Mojave Wasteland also could've been bigger and better with more settlements, longer roads, a bit better exploration, etc. However, even with the flaws made, the setting still was nice to admire.

P.S. Maybe Obsidian/Bethesda could've implemented of people actually walking to the Strip, either from beyond the Mojave or Inside the Mojave, as The Strip clearly is a place for fun, entertainment, and a great waste of caps

I for one was a bit disspointed with it overall..I mean most of the baddies you see at first challenging, but as you level, up, it gets dreadfully boring..plus the fact is that their isnt even much animals to actually have fun (in fact, I was expecting to see mutated large rattlesnakes or some kind of cool spider infestation more animals out there and alot more things to visit and ahve fun..), but the truth is, this game has fewer quests then fallout 3...at least when you walked around, jumped up on non-glitched mountains and saw the horizon, you felt at peace, or seeing a huge area with so much unique buildings, to explore, to find out what really happened in the Capital Wasteland..New Vegas just feels like people slowly moving in and out, settling, and nothing actually interesting..meh...

I'd have preferred it to take place just as House started.

Ooooooor I would have liked for them to finish Van Buren and use all of those locations in a map node system.
Can't say I really want any single area, I want lots through map nodes, one can't suffice.

I don't care for the Las Vegas setting at all. And the developers didn't help it any by making the Strip so uninteresting. If I didn't use the suite at the Lucky 38 I would have no reason to go to the Strip.

In the Mojave, you feel very safe, when you travel, you will not run into Super Mutant Overlords or Albino Radscorpions.
In the Capital, you can see, feel, hear, even smell the danger.....or is that popcorn? Anyways, Capital= Home of Danger | Mojave= Sanctuary of Safety.
But in the Mojave, you do not need to travel through the metros and mazes of DC.
Of course the Mojave has the New Vegas Strip, which is not a maze, but a-mazing, at night.
