Explosives, critcal hits, and the new patch

Few short questions:

1) Do explosives still not do crit damage after the latest patch?

2) Does a critical hit have any effect what so ever when using explosives? I specifically thinking of knock down effects.

3) If you're an explosives based character does having 1 luck affect your effectiveness w/ explosives what so ever?

2) Nope; there's a null reference where there could be something.
3) Ironically, if you're going with just Explosives, it's best to have your luck at 1 due to the answers above. Well that and you'll probably need the SPECIAL points to help ya compensate for how heavy explosive weapons are and/or ammo if you're playing hardcoe mode along with more health in the event you blast yourself to bits every once in a while.

that's what I thought, just wanted to confirm before I started a new character.

after all these discussions I just don't understand the lack of critical hits w/ explosive weapons. The mystery continues.

I have knocked over people with an explosion before, but it wasnt a crit.

Haven't experienced this myself in terms of explosions I made.

Explosive traps / objects however....

25mm grenades, dynamite, frags, and C4 also have knock down on their explosions apparently. I may be missing a few more however..

I was using the grenade rifle.

Well the grenade rifle does use 40mm's. ;)

The knock down function is on the explosion that is connected to the ammunition rather than the weapon itself.

Didn't say it because it was in the picture I took.

Course, the issue with some forums is that linked text doesn't go all fancy colour so sometimes, you can never tell.

Edit: Probably should of put "also" in that spoiler. I'll do that now.
