Did you just compare Fallout to the Sims? For shame.

Nope. Read it again.

So you guys must hate Elite and Sim City and GTA and practically every modern sandbox game, then?

I knew what happened at the end of gta lV. It needs continued, but I know what happened. I know what happened in Red Dead Redemption too.

Tell me what did happen in fo nv? Can you tell me anything more than we knew at the begining of the game except who Mr. House is?

RDR and GTA, one story, mostly shooting and fixed dialogue, not RPGs in the lightest of forms, i can dismiss them. Sim City, never played it, but it is a Sim game, and it is about a City, i assume, so it is some sort of RTS where you build a city? Nothing to do with Fallout in the slightest, the comment was to bring it up that your examples are extremely off the mark.

For clarity's sake: I'm not talking about RPGs generally, or Fallout specifically. I was raising a quizzical eyebrow at the notion that an ending is an essential component of any good game. Many games don't have a narrative at all, so I'd love to know where they fit into this theory.

And Rook, I'm not getting into the endings thing again with you. Your problem with NV's multiple endings is your own, no-one else agrees with you.

The idea that, if multiple endings are going to be done, they have to account for EVERY circumstance... that's asking a bit much, right? Not trying to be rude, but they did a very good job with the main endings as is.

You need to be blaming yourself, not the game's "stupid" ending. The game very clearly gives you a large dialog box saying: "THIS IS THE POINT OF NO RETURN, TURN BACK IF YOU HAVE UNFINISHED BUSINESS." You have no one to blame but yourself for saving over an old save after the point of no return message. I bet you skipped all the dialogue thus missing the point of no return message, and now have decided to cry a large river.

i know it was my fault, it was a ridicoulous thing to do but i just think its too easy to make that mistake

Myself, I d rather have a more liner ending with more choices through out the game that do not directly impact the ending of the game.

Then Fallout still isn't for you as 4 out of 5 Fallout games do not follow what you request (which is - you do a lot of stuff in the game, and then the end will tell you what the consequences of the places and people you fought with or against became, instead of leaving you wondering about everything, and then have the end actually end the game, instead of letting you play on until you get bored of slaying all the settlements, collecting all the teddy bears or whatever you do when there is nothing left to do.)

We don t know a single thing, and they are not well thought out, and I can make the NCR stand around and wait for a dead president for the rest of time. bad on all fronts.

But the 1 that I do know what happened right after the game.............Bethesda made it..................Bethesda owns the series

I didn t slay all the settlements. There were quests. I could see with my own characters eyes what happened to those towns. Not some slide show.

If you like being left in the dark for years thats cool.

Me I d like to know who won the 2nd battle of Hoover dam.

Everybody beat up the new guy now, don't want to make him feel welcome or anything like that.

Here new guy, have a cookie :cookie: TAKE THE DAMN COOKIE!!

OMG you're a FEEDER!! :ahhh:

On topic, I dont understand how thread starter could miss the very clear warnings. But at the same time I get his point about how it seems sad if you complete the game, it then means you wont be able to use that charecter anymore, for any DLC or anything. Especially if someone has put alot of time and effort into their charecter, it would be hard to let all that go, just for the sake of a few minutes of glory and a slide show.

I cant [censored] or whine, myself. I've been warned, and have decided that i'm just..not going to complete the game with this charecter, as I want to use this charecter for all the DLCs. It does seem sad though.. to avoid the vital climix of the game just becuase otherwise it'll be game over for a char you've worked hard to create.
