Question about the level 50 maximum

Post » Sun May 23, 2010 9:58 pm

So it just occurred to me that my main character that I've put hours upon hours into is actually only 104 points from being at max in all skills.
What will happen once I hit the 100 in every stat?
Seeing as there is potentially another 255 skill points from leveling up alone, am I going to simply be stuck on the level-up screen with nowhere to place my points?
Or is the game going to be smart enough to bypass this and take me straight to the perk screen every two levels?

That'll teach you to be intelligent!

You're 104 points from being max?
Did you set up guidelines specifically for maxing your character or something?

On the PC, I maxxed all my character's stats for fun, when I leveled up I couldn'd do anything, so leveling up would screw me over lol. Obsidian might have to do somethin about it

This was a problem in Fallout 3, originally.
When Broken Steel was released, Bethesda fixed a bug where you would be stuck in the level-up screen with max skills.

We can assume that Obsidian will recognize that it is possible to max all your skills, and they will do the same thing.

Hopefully!!

With our luck, they'll decide to lower the sniper rifle's damage again instead of actually focusing on real problems.

What do you mean, hopefully? This game uses the exact same coding architecture. To think they un-patched something is egregiously stupid.

Wow, did someone knock over your cornflakes this morning or something? As can be seen in a previous post leveling up once you have maxed skills causes an error, so no, not egregiously stupid, at all.
Actually you posting in this thread to do nothing apart from attempt to question someones intelligence, (or perhaps show off a shiny new word that you just found in a dictionary) without actually reading through some of the previous posts is egregiously ignorant.

No, seriously, they fixed it in Fallout 3. Now they're using the same code to make another game, and you think they took this out?

I'm assuming they'll have the problem fixed if you max your skills early. They won't make that mistake again.

I still can't believe they did this but oh well. :shakehead:

The level-cap trait? What happens if you don't want a self-imposed level cap?

Then don't take that perk. They kindly added that perk for those who do want a self-imposed level cap.

I think you mean trait although I do think it should be a perk that you can select at Level 30.

Indeed, I'm aware of that... What I meant was if you don't want the self imposed level cap what happens when you max your skills.
I'm actually wishing I'd never asked this question now, from people being openly rude for no particular reason to others answering without actually thinking, I'm not really getting any kind of answer. :(
