No Nukes?

In the numbered Fallout games and Fallout: Tactics, we were given the chance to detonate/observe a pre-war nuclear weapon. Why not this time? WHY?

Fallout: New Vegas focuses less on nuclear bombs, radiation, and pre-war technology.
It instead focuses on how post-war factions are rebuilding the world and how pre-war technology and ideas are becoming obsolete.

It would be counter-productive to the theme of the game if you could detonate a nuke.

Besides, you're in the middle of the desert. I guess you could nuke a cactus.

"The one" is just an undetonated nuke, it cant be blown up (much to my disappointment) but can be salvaged for 100 ECs if im not mistaken?

There simply aren't that many nukes left. Most of them were used, you know, to create the fallout universe. The rest are scattered about, or buried in some as of yet unknown bunker.

And you've gotta think: everytime you see one in another game, that 1 less potential nuke for a future game. We certainly aren't building any more of them.

Maybe we'll stumble across one in a DLC, but I wouldn't count on it.

We can use a fusion explosion to blow up the BoS bunker, and there is an undetonated atom bomb called The One in the Mojave, guarded by Super Mutants and can be looted for a good loot of EW ammo. Plus we have ARCHIMEDES II.

A nuke going off would be nice, but it's no biggie. They should have made mini nukes and holy handgrenades more available like they did in Fallout 3 at least one vendor or crafting some at the repair table....future dlc maybe hint hint

Nukes in Fallout, Fallout 2 and Tactics had a point to them. Fallout 3's nuke was just stupid IMO. Anyways it has been done to much. If you count being able to blow up the BoS base in New Vegas, you can imagine a nuke was the cause.
