To take on the NCR and the Legion at the same time

Post » Sat May 29, 2010 5:41 am

Say you hate the NCR but you don't like the Legion either, Mr. House just isn't your cup of tea and Yes Man was cool but not cool enough to trust a Bot

Who could you side with in game and gain not necessarily an advantage but it wouldn't force you to go about the game alone?

The Enclave. You definitely need them for the final battle.

With Dead Money you can go the Greed path or the Wipe The Slate Clean path.
Both ends the game.

If you want to progress the story to the end, you're going to have to pick one of those 4.

Well, you could fail Dead Money like Gabe77 suggested... Or you could just drop 5 - no, wait - 3 holy hand grenades at your feet to end it all, but neither of those options resolve the main story line.

Well, not the "main story" but they're optional endings.
The greed path for example
Spoiler
Say I want to roleplay a character that's consumed by greed, I rob all the casino's, steal everything around me of even a fraction of value and then I hear the news of the Sierra Madre, oh how glorious it would be to get a hold of the valuables over there. So I go over there and do the story and I find the gold. Oh the glorious gold, in my haze I don't even bother to read the messages and just click on the computer to open up the door when I finally find out what happens... I'm locked in... My greed has gotten the best of me and now I die a suiting death for such a sleezebag as I am.

So I wouldn't say that you "fail" the DLC, the DLC allows to end your character a different way.
Sure you don't get an update on what happened everywhere else but do you need to?
Your character wasn't part of it, your character wasn't there to witness the aftermath.
Your character lies dead of starvation inside of a vault.

And Wipe The Slate clean allows for that sort of ending as well.
You don't "need to know" what happened to the Mojave or it's factions since everything has been killed off or forced away by the cloud.
The Kings, Novac, Legion, NCR, all had the same faith, dead or evacuated it.

So I would not say that either of these new endings are "failing Dead Money", they're a different approach to an ending.

You could go with Yes man hes probably the most neutral side in the main quest.

Wrong, since Yes-man suggest to you what you should do, a true neutral opinion doesnt do that.

True. But true neutral option doesn't have a conclusion, as it doesn't get concerned about what happens in the region - so Yes Man, in practice, offers, at least, the most neutral option.

I played the Yes Man side multiple times and there are
Spoiler
NUMEROUS endings for victory pending on how you answer (Speech) to the Gen at the end. Pending on some of your responses to the Gen then to the Yes Man, you have the ability to finish the game with Yes Man army still at your disposal without them turning against you.

Yes man is by far the most neutral option

He's not 100% neutral, but much closer to it than House, NCR or Legion. Each of those 3 has someone in their path that who they intend to kill. Maybe you can talk them out if it, and propose a better solution, maybe not. But yes man is the only one without any preconcieved plans.

Is it possible to Win the game with either the Boomers, FoA or Khans as a Primary faction?

For my greedy character it ended alot like Gabriel77dan said earlier, I decided I wanted my ending to be ironic like that, because it was the perfect and it just seemed like my character got what was coming to him all this time.

Except he tells you what to do after you put him in and you have not one ounce of control. You have more control with NCRs end game than yes man.

After Yes man is installed into Houses network the writers forgot about him.

He is an abortion...........
