Where are you setting up shop

I'm just curious where some of you guys stash all of your stuff. I'm getting back into this game with the new DLC's right around the corner but I don't want to use the Lucky 38 anymore. I really want some kind of large, underground bunker or armory. In Fallout 3 I used the National Guard Depot's armory and it was perfect. Lots of shelf space, bed, etc. Is there anywhere comparable to that in New Vegas? So far the only thing I've found that I half-way like is the bunker you get from Dead Money and that's only one little small room. I'd like something much larger. Has there been any word as to whether there will be any kind of house add-on with the up-coming DLCs?

I just use Novac. Not the most bunkerish, but it does have a dedicated sniper or two. Plus it has a relatively convenient workbench, reloading bench and (if you don't mind a little walking) campfire.

Plus it has all the ingredients for weapon repair kits just laying around (less important post-Dead Money though)

Plus, Fast Travel drops you off right near your door. You don't have to go through 3 more loading screens just to get into your room.

And for what it's worth, there's a good storage bin for each type of item. Weapons in the footlocker, misc (scrap metal, fission batteries, sensor modules, etc) in the dresser, armor in the cabinet, aid (food) in the fridge, and unique or rare items in the safe.

Where is this? Is there constant radiation? The National Guard Depot had some radiation when you entered the front door, but not down in the bunker/armory.

I've recently come to love the Vault 21 hotel room.

I always recommend Wolfhorn Ranch for it's isolation yet land mass.

Also, I think the 'Atomic Shelter' he's referring to is either 'Hell's Motel' Northwest of the Nipton Rest stop, or the shelter at the Test Site at the very far south end of the map.

Well Depending on my player depends on where they live. My ncr/guns gal is uses both the ncr bunker and novac (there are ncr near by, and boone sometimes misses the place.) legion/meele uses the legion bunker along with nipton townhall likes his own company so he picks places with little people in it, or kills them off. My bos/engery guy lives with the bos cuase hes... ya know... bos. My explosive guy has a few places to lie low (cause hes a slick evil man), hells hotel and the shack near the monument. Still looking for more spots which fit my guys really. My unarmed guy aka "I solve practical problems like what is beauty. The answer is a fist. If that don't work use another fist. he lives in lucky 38 because hes working for house and sees no reason to live in some small shack when hes got a nice looking place liek that.(Though he does have a safehouse in primm bison, because in my roleplay thats where he was born.)

Except an "owned" bed, which is a big help in HC.

Might start using this place on my non-HC games though.

BoS Safehouse. Safe, effective and workbenches. Also it is underground which is cool and that you get some stuff as soon as you get in there which is kind of nice.

I am not sure as a PC player if i will get a bunch of boos from the peanut gallery but i use a mod which convets the Goodsprings school house into a player home. It has ample storage suitable for all of your pack rat needs, plus it has the 3 crafting tools, reload bench, work bench, and a cookstove. It also comes with a rad free sink in the kitchen area and a well rested bed, couple of radios all in all a nice home away from home. I will camp out if necessary in a few of the places mentioned by previous posters but home is the schoohouse. Plus as i RP it i lived in Goodsprings before Benny and his BS, so Victor, Doc, Trudy, Chet. Pete, and Sunny are all neighbors.

Ranger Safehouse for me. The presidential suite is far too luxurious for my Courier's liking, since she's almost never around it's just space going to waste.

Another vote for Novac. Getting to the Lucky38 is just too time cosuming. You can fast travel pretty much to the front door in Novac.
