In my next playthrough, I intend to recruit Raul as a companion-I have no real idea of what his quest is like, but heard it's tricky because players don't typically plan to go to a mountain full of Nightkin all too early.

I don't want any spoilers as to his "story" or anything about him aside from the obvious-such as the fact that he's a ghoul, but I was hoping for advice on how to actually recruit him. Such as what level, or how to handle rescuing him, etc. etc.

To explain all that I know:
-He's a ghoul(and, if I'm correct, either from the southern border(roughly) or from Central America-can't remember exactly)
-A mechanic
-Trapped on Black Mountain, due to Tabitha.

I never recruited him, but I was able to talk to him in my original playthrough-so I know very little about him, and that's how I'd prefer it until I learn from experience.
Any help is greatly appreciated. :]

Raul is not a good early game follower, mainly because he's so hard to obtain early game. You're better off using Boone or Veronica until about level 10. Then, you can tackle Black Mountain.

I have gotten him at level 2 before, just go to the Goodsprings school, grab a stealth boy. Sometimes one spawns in Victor's House. Head up Black Mountain and use up the 'Boys. Worse comes to worst, just RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grab Raul and haul ass! The only TRUE threat is the guy with the Annabelle. Take the left way when you get to him as there are buildings for cover.

All his quest involves is finding people. All you need to do is take Raul and talk to

(Getting Raul) [SPOILER] if you kill tabitha and go to the jail where Raul is being held he is behind a locked door there are 2 terminals in that room one of which is very hard and breaks the lock to the door where raul is but the other terminal has 6 entries i believe and one of the entries has the password to the terminal that opens the door to where Raul is.

Yeah, you can just use the terminal, unlock the lock and you're set. But btw,

It's also a good idea not to kill Raul, by sticking grenades in his pockets or otherwise.
