Just scavanging around, found primm pass east of primm obviously, stumbled across a blind deathclaw that attacks from listening

I know this is an old post but atleast i searched before starting a new thread and yep the blind deathclaw bless it kicked out of the lair haha :flamethrower:

Blind my rear server tower. Those Deathclaw are just as brutal as sight ones. Still baffles me they can detect me from hundreds of feet/years away when they are supposedly blind.

No he/she is literally "Blind" i did not realise till i went to loot the DC and it said "Blind Deathclaw" lol

Are there others then?

Never really understood completely what made them blind. Maybe they're eating rocks out there or whatever is being mined. Or maybe there is somebody I need to talk to and haven't yet.

It's a reference to Fallout 1 and 2.

Deathclaws being one of the most dangerous creatures in those games had us players always using AIM and targeting their eyes for major critical hit chance and damage.
These Blind Deathclaws are most certainly a reference to that.

I believe they are a reference to an ability we no longer have in the New Fallouts and that is to shoot someone in the eyes and make them Blind. To me blind deathclaws were deathclaws that were shot in the eyes and therefore blinded. The best way to kill deathclaws in the Originals is to shoot them in the eyes but sometimes it would just blind them.

Their names are misleading to, try attacking one of those things at level 5 and see just how blind they are.

I figure they have a great sense of smell, and are attacking the sweatiest thing around them. And good hearing (explaining why I can't slip past in a nice sealed suit of power armor).

I know at least when a sense on a human is disabled, like the ability to see, then other senses are sharpened. So I guess blind deathclaw would be better at smelling you, if the wind is right, and hearing aswell as feeling you if your steps are not light enough. Feeling as feeling the vibrations of your steps on in the ground.

Dont feel sorry for it, whatever you do! As someone said, they're still vicious [censored]s, and I dont think being blind is much of a disability to them, no more than us not having wings would be a dissability to us, for example.

There's nothing more humiliating by getting pwned by a blind deathclaw, who breaks your armour, and then leaves you running through the wasteland in your panties.
