Yes but in at least rome Slaves were treated kindly and not like PACK BRAHMIN!!

lol, what slaves are you talking about? the ones that mined for resources or broke their backs heating indoor bathouses? The ones that were [censored] on a daily basis, the ones that were executed in vicious ways like being crushed under a pressing machine or being eaten alive by man-eating eels?

Are you talking about those Roman Slaves? :whistling:

Or...

The good treatment of slaves in Rome was one of the positive and beneficial aspects of the slave system. For example, some slaves were given many privileges, comforts and were treated better than most people would have imagined. Nardo states "some masters treated their slaves with care and affection as their own children"(25).

"As historian L.P.Wilkinson also stated, 'normal masters could hardly fail, even if half-ashamedly, to have a soft spot for characters they had seen toddling and growing up about the place, these slaves in return ate and dressed better than poor free Romans. They were even safer and secure'" ( qtd.in Nardo.25). Some slave masters showed their loyalty and how much they cared for their slaves by giving nearly complete charge of their money and business affairs to the slaves without interfering. This led to the development of saturnalia festival.

You need to stop bringing up all the negative things about slavery and show good in there.

I'm getting confused...do you support slavery in the Legion and the Legion? I thought that you were anti-legion, but if you actually feel this way about Roman slaves, then why would this not apply to Legion slaves? Ever been to Casa Madrid? Talk to the male prosttute. The legion do have love for their slaves. And the more valuable women are given to the more powerful men, do you think there's no love and respect there?

I hate the legion and despise slavery but if were looking at the pros to slavery(which there are some) they might as well show. I do not support slavery but if your going to say slavery was always bad in Roman times(which it is) need to show you some pros to it(which are not many).

"This opens up more dialogue with Jimmy about his past, with Jimmy stating that Caesar's Legion raided his village and Jimmy was chosen specially by a Centurion as a "helper." The Centurion protected Jimmy, but as the Legion became suspicious of their relationship, and Caesar punished homosixuality with death, the Centurion decided to get rid of Jimmy. Jimmy realized what was happening, and after the Centurion took him into the desert, Jimmy caught him unaware with a kick to groin and ran for it, eventually ending up in Westside."

That's a real love story alright. Enslave him and extort sixual favors out of him in exchange for protection until he becomes a liability at which point murder him.

Jimmy's story sums up prettymuch everything that is absolutely horrible about the Legion and why it's all but impossible to consider them the best option.

And the more valuable women are given to the more powerful men, do you think there's no love and respect there?

It's a pretty safe bet there isn't.

For the record, I did not mean to make this a legion vs. ncr thread or really why non-legion felt that way...but this has been more interesting than what I had intended.

Well, let me say it this way: The legion is in my way to get a platinum trophy. Their whole frigging moral is so wrong on all possible ways...
