What is new? Been away for a while.

Hello everyone, long time no see. For what ever reasons, I have stopped playing New Vegas for a long time. I guess I am just Fallout 3/NV burnt out for playing it non stop for long periods of time.

I know there was a DLC for Blood Money months ago, but I was shocked to see a new DLC. Honest Hearts or something like that. I was in the DLC section looking info for that. I have 1000 Xbox points so I am not sure if I should get Blood Money, or Honest Hearts. But I am not here for that, I will make a new thread over there.

What I would like to know is, what is new? I just turned on NV and it said I needed an update. So does anyone know what this update is? Is it a new patch? Can anyone link me to info on this please?

Since it have been months since I played, I have no idea where I am. I almost thought I should start all over again. I don't really want to start all over again, so I want to make sure, does this update that just installed on the 360 will make my current save game, from about 3 or 4 months ago, invalidate it, and I should really start a new game, or will I be fine? The reason I ask, after reading about 1/2 hour on the forums, I am worried my last saves are invalid now. Some people say you need to start a new game, while others say you don't. So I am confused what to do. While it will be nice to start over again, I don't want to lose some of the items I have found now.

What do you guys think? Start new game, or continue with what I have. It will take me while to remember what quest I was working on, since I leave it on EDE my love so I don't have the map quest counters if I don't want them.

Also what is new? What have I missed for the last 4 or 5 months?

Hey, Welcome back :)

Well, I have not been able to play any of the new Dlc′s as Playstation store have been down. If I were you and hadn′t played fallout for a long period I would have started over again. It gives a little feeling of getting back on track, instead of being put in the middle of the action. On the dlc part I would recommend Honest Hearts. My impresion is that Dead Money was trying to do something different and didn′t succed very well. Honest Hearts on the other side looks more like the fallout I know and it is very story related aswell. That is my first priority when PSS is back up and I might buy dead money, but I would have to think it trough a little more. Well, thanks for listening to what i have to say

Your old saves should still be good, at least all of mine were after the patch, and you also dont have to start a new game either, just boot up a old save and you should be good.

And btw, Best. Signature. Ever. Just wanted to say that.

Thanks for the comments guys. I am 50/50 about starting a new game. It almost feels so new to me, that I am thinking it might actually be good to start over again since I remember some things but forget how I got other things. My favorite weapon the Giant Hammer, it has a special name to it, I forgot how I got it, so it might be fun to try and get it again by starting again.

As for my signature, I can't take credit for it. I saw it on the forums here, Someone said it in a thread, and I had to sig it. :D It just seems so true now these days.

Normally when I hadn′t played F3 in a couple of weeks I just made a new save instead of using the old one. I had forgot what I was doing and I probably would have messed the whole thing up pretty bad :whistling:

After reading some comments, and doing more reading on the NV forums, I have decided to start all over again. So since I have seem to forgotten alot of stuff, help me make a new character.

I don't want to look at my old sayves because I don't want to rememeber something I have forgotten. All I rememeber was having high strength, since 8 or 9, and then getting something at the end to max it out at 10. I love to carry as much stuff I can so that is the only reason why I have high strength. I have 1 in Perception, just because I hate seeing the red blips on the bottom and thinking if they are close when in fact they are far away or vice versa, so I choose low Per so I know if I see a red blip it's close by.

I can't remember what my Int and Charasima was, but I am sure they were low so I can make the other ones higher. I loved my older character, I had lots of fun with it. But since I forgot, I am wundering if anything new with the patches and or DLC perks or what not, I should maybe have higher Char or Int and why without spoiling it if possible. I really enjoyed using guns and Close Combat weapons, never did much melee though. I remember I loved to craft, but I never did it much. I plan on trying to do it more this time, and take my time instead of rushing through things.

So any help or tips in creating a new character would be appreciated.

I don't know if I should make a new post or not about making a new character. If I should make a new character can a mod lock this and please let me know if I should just continue using this thread or if I should make a new one.

Thanks. :)
